We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaneese Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaneese, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When I think about risk taking, I think about believing in myself, having confidence. To get where I am today I have taken some pretty big risks, from deciding what school I want attend to play collegiate basketball, to deciding to transfer from that school, leaving home to open my first business then deciding to close down my gym and move to Atlanta. These are some of the many risks that have molded me and prepared me for the position I am in today. In no way were these risks comfortable but growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Take that RISK! It will pay off and even if it doesn’t work out exactly the way you want it to, learn from it and most importantly GROW. “If you’re scared to take a chance how you think we gon’ get rich? – J.Cole

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Personal Trainer and owner of Team Bailey Athletics. What sets me aside is my understanding of the human body and how it moves to better assist my clients with not only losing weight but helping them move better and become pain free. Im most proud of the expansion of my business in a short time span the addition of the group workouts to my business has benefited me and my clients in a number of ways. I went form helping 1 or 2 clients at a time to 15-20. Assisting people with changing their bodies and achieving their personal fitness goals Is something I’m super passionate about.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am fairly new to the Atlanta area so im still trying to find my way around this place but I love trying new things and visiting new places so 9x out of 10 I would just find some random spots on yelp or atlantamag and just try them out. A couple of my fav places to visit thus far are the Beltline, Piedmont park, Roswell Mill, Sivas, and Crab404.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to send a SHOUTOUT to my mom for her love and encouragement in ALL my risk taking endeavors, I’m most comfortable taking risks because she always told me that there is nothing that I can’t do, if I want it go for it. S/O to my team at ROC Fitness, for taking a chance on me and bringing me on to the team to learn and grow with them. My family (which is huge) and friends for all the love and support. No matter what is is they always come ready to support me and I appreciate that.
