We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Finney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
As a new brand we see our customers as the most vital part of our success and growth. We are inspired by real people, memorable moments and cozy feelings. Our wooden wicks, and natural waxes help us bring quality and wellness with a modern yet inclusive attitude. Building a community is a highlight in our small business. Getting to know our buyers and elevating their intimate spaces is a priority that has helped maintain an accessible relationship with them. Each stage of the buying process unlocks a new element of our branding, we have a variety of thank you cards that accompany customers from first time buys to their fifth orders. Handwritten thank you notes to show our gratitude have truly gone a long way. We love that they feel a sense of familiarity to our company and see it as an important part of their lifestyle.

What should our readers know about your business?
Your Sunday products are made by hand in small batches to maintain the clean quality. Our approach to eco-friendly luxury is minimal yet relatable. We offer trendy shapes and strong fragrance throws without the often toxic, and environmentally harmful ingredients. Our forms which include a variety of shapes are the only ones in the industry currently made with wood wicks. Wooden wicks provide our products with a slow burn and whispering crackle sound that is truly soothing. The larger candle companies are predominantly owned by men, although most candle purchasers are women. Your Sunday is proud to be a black woman owned small business and we are excited to grow and offer an alternative yet luxury solution to purchasers. getting where we are today has all been based on our consistency. Being consistent in outreach, social media and branding has gotten us so far in just a short year.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family, from my parents, siblings, aunts and uncles…etc. they have all been so supportive from the beginning. They gave me my first few orders and offered some much needed advice while traveling this sometimes chaotic entrepreneurial journey. My company is completely inspired by my upbringing in California so I have to give the upmost credit to those who helped me create such important moments here during my life thus far; there’s more to come I’m sure.
