We had the good fortune of connecting with Rome Westfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rome, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I fell in love with music at a young age, so. I decided to go to a technical college to learn as much as I can. Since graduating college I have released three albums professionally along with a couple music videos. I also have done my fair share of live performances. This journey has not been easy and there are a lot of ups and downs that come with being an independent artist but I wouldn’t change it for the world because the journey is the best part of the process not getting where you’re trying to go. I have recently released a new mixtape entitled “Luv Me While I’m Still Here” this project is available on all streaming platforms. This is just the tip of the iceberg I have so much more in store for this year and the years to come.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel as though I really stand out because my sound alone sets its own tone apart from other Atl artist. Came pretty far but I still have a good ways to go. Nothing in this profession is easy you really have to get in where you fit or create your own lane. I want the world to see a man who wasn’t afraid to be himself and be different.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite places to see within the city are the nature reserves with rivers and lakes. I am very big on sitting by the water and just watching it move, just the sound of water flowing is calming to me. I’d also recommend taking a walk on the Belt-line and just interacting with people, viewing the amazing street art . As far as food goods I love a good steak or lamb chop, for one the best steaks I’ve ever had I would definitely recommend “Houston’s” hands down one of the best I’ve had by far. I have yet to find a spot with great lamb chops I’m still looking.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entire family deserves credit, my mom and dad for believing in me when I told them that music is what I wanted to pursue and they supported me fully. My friends for listening and sharing my music without me asking . I recently played my family my latest albums I am hoping to release it by the end of this year or early next year and they were surprisingly really receptive and they loved it. That made me feel good because I had never played my family any of my music before. I really want to thank one of my best friends Trent he believed in me growing up when no one else did. I am proud to call him a friend, a brother and my business partner.
