We had the good fortune of connecting with Rolexxx and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rolexxx, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up my pops used to rap and my mom was in the choir. So I use to listen to her sing all the time and I use to sneak and listen to his cassette tapes. Even my older cousins had a lil rap group called the first street gangstas, so I’ve always been around music which made me pursue it
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m excited to be relatable. I think that’s what makes you most exited about a song, whe you can feel it. You can think of a time the same thing happened to you.
It took a long time. You gone spend your money with so many different photographers, engineers, producers, promoters and find out not everybody cares about your vision. They just want some money. You meet few people who actually put love into their craft. Still gotta pay them what their worth tho, never be cheap with somebody that’s breaking they back to push your movement. Overall you gone either build your own team or pay other people.
I want them to know it’s more than a brand it’s a family. Everybody eats . If I know everybody can feed they family then I know i can sleep easy. I never had that option so if I can put my people in a position and so on and so on than we can create our own story.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depends on what type of friend and what season. For instance during winter they always bring out the ice rink in winter, and I know my professional potnas not trying to go to Lacura lol. Different places for different people.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to the 229 for raising me and the 404 for embracing me, no kizzy. Shoutout to my mom for always being interested in my music. I thank my son for giving me drive, most of all I thank God for giving me another chance everyday, win or lose. Death and failure are two different things.
