We had the good fortune of connecting with Randi Skye and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randi, what role has risk played in your life or career?
You have to take risk to succeed in anything in life! You ever heard the saying “Scared Money Don’t Make No Money!” well thats about taking risk. You have to sacrifice something to get the things you want in life! I took a big risk pursuing my comedy career. I quit my job of 12 years and left my hometown to come to Atlanta to pursue comedy. I know I have a gift to make people laugh but I needed to be somewhere else to grow more. So I believed in myself and I jumped off the deep end without a life jacket! I took the ultimate risk and I don’t regret it ONE BIT!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So, I have been funny my whole life! Class clown, local jester, anything funny I have always been apart of. I think I stand out more than others because my energy is thru the roof and my spirit is so genuine when I am on that stage. I really take this gift serious and my main motive is to take others’ away from their problems if only for five minutes and fill it with laughter, People can feel my sincerity and they attract to me and my humor. I love doing comedy, I get on any stage I can get on to spread the laughs! I genuinely love to see other people smiling and just being happy! Coming to a new city to pursue this passion has had trying times especially once the pandemic hit but when your focused and believe in yourself NOTHING WILL STOP YOU! I found other ways to get my jokes out such as virtual shows because when your determined no obstacle will block you! I want the world to be filled with laughter and good times. I need the world to know my brand is all about bringing happiness to everyone with the gift of laughter.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First thingS first we HAVE TO find some bomb ass food! Atlanta is definitely the spot for that! So first up WE SHALL BRUNCH! Maybe hit up Milk & Honey for some great food! Cruise the streets of Edgewood to see what’s popping! Take some cute pics by Krog St and Wylie St. We go with the wind, its so much to get into out here! As long as we have good weed and drinks and uber WE ARE GUCCI! LOL WE ARE THE PARTY! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a big shoutout to my family and close friends who told me that I had it and to pursue it! My mom came to my first show that I performed in a coliseum in front of a few thousands and she told me then “Quit your job, move to a major city and do your calling, comedy!” She saw this in me before I knew I had it! Another big shout out to my family, I do this for them and they help me get thru any obstacles!
