We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick JACKSON and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nick, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When the economy fell in 2008, things got really rough. I was working for a large dealership (Bill Heard Chevrolet) and they closed their doors. After working for other dealerships and the county, we decided to step out on faith and do it on our own.
What should our readers know about your business?
Here at Nick J’s Auto Repair, we service foreign and domestic vehicles. The services provided are major and minor auto repair. There are a few things that set us apart from others. We take the time to talk to them, educate them and show them what’s going on. The major one is that we offer no credit needed financing on your repairs. The customer will be able to make small payments on large or small repairs while keeping their vehicle. This is a great tool to offer especially during Covid-19. We’re the only ones in the area who does major electrical diagnostics. Being here today has been by a number of trials and errors. Giving up was not an option. Making this dream work was hard because our children were younger at the time and we literally started with nothing. We pride ourselves in our work ethic, quality, and service. With these attributes, it has brought us to where we are now and will continue to be our road map to success and life. One lesson that sticks out the most is, keep pushing, keep hammering at it. That wall will eventually fall and to make it happen.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife Lanell is the backbone of the business. I turn the wrenches and everything else she takes care of. She has set the business up to run like a doctor’s office. When I wanted to give up she said NO! We’ve come to far to go back. We are in the middle of growing pains and we will get through this. Here we are today, 8 years later; still going strong.
