Meet Natashaa Kaycee | Influencer & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natashaa Kaycee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natashaa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Funny enough I started my business out of rebellion. As a teenager my father absolutely hated makeup and I was in that phase of becoming a girly girl. My dad and I fought about this constantly! My solution to that was turning my growing passion for makeup into a business so that he would stop throwing away my makeup and let me wear it freely. At first it didn’t work but with time, as I hid my makeup better, perfected my craft, and began getting clients he began to accept it and I began to take the business more serious.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Makeup for me is art, a way of expressing myself and also therapeutic. What makes me more proud is being able to share this with my family, friends and clients. When someone sits down in my chair and we connect while enhancing & showcasing their features it brings me pure joy. The fact that every look is unique and there are endless possible outcomes is the best part of it for me. On the other hand the challenge for me in the past was finding my “lane”. With so many amazing artists in the industry and trends popping up all the times, it’s easy to get lost in it all. What I learned though that is that sometimes it’s good to take a step back and find your lane without all the noise.
When I took a break to strategize, re-brand and perfect my craft, I came back better and so much more effective. Knowing my lane and exactly what I wanted to present to the world made all the difference in my business and career.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The first place I would take someone to is the airport because one thing about me is I will be OUT THE COUNTRY! Lool
Contrary to popular belief, I am quite the homebody. The main thing that can bring me out of my house is food so I would definitely take them to many different food spot throughout the week. From my favourite brunch spot, Indian restaurant, Italian restaurant, favourite steakhouse , Korean fried chicken and favourite taco spot. I have a whole list! The best things on my list however are cafes and oyster spots.
After food, I like doing fun & creative activities that give you the opportunity to talk and connect. Some of the activities I would plan are paint & sip picnic in the park. horseback riding or planes land and take off at my secret location.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There isn’t only one person that I can give a shoutout to. To get to where I am today (which is nowhere at all because we’re only getting started) it took a village. From my entire family that always gave me room to be myself and express myself freely. My mom who that taught me to be strong and have a mind of my own, my father who gave me my identity and the confidence to face the world. To my teachers, mentors and friends who have always been there through it all…They all deserve a shoutout. Above all, it’s really the doing of God so He deserves the greatest shoutout.
