We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
If you don’t take RISK, than you don’t experience possibilities, you only experience regrets. I rather take a risk so at least I can say I did it whether I succeed or not. Failure is going to happen but you wont know unless you try. You cant live life to the fullest without taking risks. I have taken lots of risks in my life and some of the risk were a success and some was a failure. But I have learned from each one. I took a risk in moving to the city because I wanted to be more involve in The Fashion Community. At the time I didn’t have the financial means but I took a risk and when I did everything came together financially. To me RISK is like having Faith in believing in something you can’t see right away.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Natasha’s Thread is a Fashion Company that is reconceptualizing beauty through Fashion. Recently I made a transition from being an Image Consultant/Fashion Stylist to working a new business concept Of Luxury Pop Up Shop’s. Natasha’s Thread Luxury Pop Up Shop’s is set apart because I am going to be giving my luxury lovers a curated experience while shopping. I am really excited about this new adventure in the Fashion business because I am bringing retail with a luxury experience and giving high end fashion designers a space to market their garments and fashion pieces. And I am also giving their customers an interactive experience that will have a vibe atmosphere with some other exciting things that cant reveal just yet:) I came to this realization by researching the Market and Surveying what luxury shoppers want when they shop. I wouldn’t say it was easy but it takes patience to go through the process of making this DREAM a reality by doing the research instead of just launching when I got the idea. The lessons I have learned along the way is to be open and not to put my business in a box, because with technology and the way the world is changing you have to be flexible and be willing to learn new business trends. What I want the world to know about my Brand is that its Versatile every Shopping experience will be different.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to The Garden Room Atlanta:) Its very enchanting with a garden luxe feel and a great atmosphere with great food and drinks. Nice place to take pics lol. I also would take her to the Beltline for a nice walk during the day to get some excercise and have lunch at one of the restaurants. Also take her to Shops At Buckhead during the day for brunch at Le Bilboquet on the outside patio, with DJ. Next visit the Atlanta Aquarium and the Civil Rights Museum and MLK Museum. Next day we are going to visit some Black Own Business on Peter Street and Restaurants. The End.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a Shout Out to FGI, Fashion Group International Atlanta. FGI is a global non profit organization with over 6,000 representing fashion and beauty and design. I have been a member since 2019, and I have met and connected with some of the most amazing people in the fashion industry in Atlanta. FGI has helped me broaden my vision Natasha’s Thread. While attending their networking events, I realized that my passion is fashion and networking. So I am pivoting my business from Fashion Consultant/Stylist to creating curated and exclusive Luxury Pop Up Shop’s.
