Meet Mike Whaley | Tv/Film – Commercial Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Whaley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Well this is a very interesting question, because on one side of the coin, most people don’t really know what they want to do in life until they’re older. On the opposite side of the coin you have those who knew what made them happy in doing. Through my life work and through my experiences, I’ve gotten a better understanding that their are no life’s purposes. Careers and jobs were created by man, so I can’t say my purpose is working for man. My purpose is to experiment and experience life and in the corners of the jobs or works that bring me joy. I was extremely fortunate to have parents to see my enthusiasm as a young child in the theater. They involved me in everything under the sun; from acting troupes, to summer camps, to sending me abroad to study theater and acting in the UK. To be honest I didn’t know what I was perusing. I may have thought like everyone else at that age; “I’m pursuing fame and fortune.” More less the fame part lol. But now decades later, over 60 tv/film, and 300+ commercials – I’ve found the joy in the experience. Which is amazing for me. Being able express yourself freely and without having to explain is the ultimate truth.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
All that carried me through to where I am in both categories – were sheer will to never give in to a NO. I trust the universe and I trust the Law of Attraction. I’ve learned that to the contrary of hard work and years of sacrifices- it really only takes you believing in what you can accomplish and the rest falls into place.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My wife and frequent Agave restaurant a lot since Covid and post pandemic lockdown. If you’ve never tried the salmon toastsda you are missing what life is about lol. I’m pretty much a hole body: I love checking out new and old spot around the city when I’m home in Atlanta, but you can find me most of the time watching documentaries and learning about crazy stuff.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The obvious answer is my mother and father of course. Without them, not sure I would have been allotted the exposure of this wonderful craft. But if we are looking to appreciate those that are just as important and appreciated – I’d have to say my wife, brothers, fsmily and college professors. In particular one George Judy. This was where the real work or shall I say fun began.
