We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Sorkin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We really wanted to be in control of our future. We both have marketing backgrounds and passion for dogs – this was a way to marry our talents and passions, and we love every minute of it!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We pride ourselves with delicious products made with natural, human grade food from the United States. All flavors are made in small batches to ensure freshness. No added colors, preservatives salts or sugar added – ever. We have eaten everything we have made. The road hasn’t always been easy, but we think you have to have a few failures along the way in order to be successful. We learn from our mistakes, and practice experiments with our customers on flavor options, packaging, and price points to earn the right to be in this space.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love anything dog friendly! Atlanta and suburbs have amazing restaurants, trails, nightlife. We would definitely hit a few of the dog-friendly breweries, such as Reformation with locations in Smyrna, Woodstock and Canton, or Dry County in Kennesaw – who is getting ready to open a brand new facility this summer! We love the Silver Comet Trail and Beltline for a great walk, or a quick drive to the mountains for a nice hike! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh gosh, where to start? Our two and four legged friends and family for sure, and the support of the vendors, managers, and LOYAL shoppers each week at the Woodstock Farm Fresh Market!
