We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Dennis, the CEO of So Raw LLC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, how do you think about risk?
The way I have used risk taking in my life/ career is by always passing on doing something fun with my friends so I can build my brand more. For example, my friends would go out & ask if I wanted to join, I would tell them no because I would have to fulfill orders. In order for me to become the successful entrepreneur I manifest to be, I have to take risk to get where I want, investing in myself, not spending my profits, and doing any & everything to keep a good reputation for my brand! A risk I also take is the income. I could make a certain amount one month & another amount one month so I cannot really get things I have to pay for monthly due to the fact the income is not residual. Although being an entrepreneur is fun & a really big flex, missing out on fun & time to treat yourself can be annoying because you have a brand to look after!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a custom clothing wholesaler, I help start small businesses that are looking to have apparel in their brand. I offer a lot of business supplies as far as business cards, custom poly mailers, custom shirts, custom mask & more! At first I was just only doing regular sale but I loved doing big bulk orders so that’s when I switched to a clothing wholesaler! I’ve helped over 250 people start their brand with my inexpensive, and good quality items! I have overcame so many challenges from people using my work & blowing up to getting my page taken away. I’m extremely blessed to have the platform & supporters I have today!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the selfie museum that has different themes to take pictures in! I would take them to East Atlanta to where all the good food & graffiti is for tourists! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to all the businesses that helped me get where I am. I appreciate @shoptaysdollhouse for walking me through the steps of getting a website. I appreciate @casedgalore for giving me tips on how to keep a website looking good & easy for customers. I appreciate @duokollections for helping me with the apps I needed for my website! I am truly thankful for everyone that’s in the “ black owned businesses” group chat for all their encouraging words! Lastly, I appreciate my mom, my dad, & my auntie for all investing in my brand because they saw potential in me.
