We had the good fortune of connecting with Marty Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marty, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
The work / life balance is the key to any successful person whether it’s running a mom and pop, Fortune 500 or the guy in the mailroom. Once you pursue whatever it is in life you have a passion for or just making a living you must reward yourself with the fruits of your labor making your sweat all worthwhile.
For me personally I have been known to be a workaholic being rewarded by “Time Served’ in a sense but as I got older I realized there was more to life than wanting more / getting more …there was life itself, family, just being grateful and enjoying the fruits of my labor with others ” Now That’s Rewarding”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am one half of 6xentertainment with my partner C Von Parchman. we are a management, branding and licensing company operating out of Los Angeles and Atlanta making us bi-coastal in a sense.
We create opportunities for trendsetters that shape the culture of film, television, music, sports and beyond with a roster of talent in all categories. We are most proud of our licensing aspect of the company having placed over 30 musical compositions to film and television in the last year or so. Our music can be heard on shows like LA’s finest, All American, Miss Universe, Black AF, Grownish and the list goes on. We even have music placed on Rhianna’s Fenty line commercials. As my partner
C Von always says” Licensing is the new record label” it’s great exposure for an artist and their works.
People always look at the finished product and not the work that went into creating it…in other words this was not an easy task to get to where we are and to where we are going. The key to any business is RELATIONSHIPS which is one thing as a company we have mastered.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Breakfast at Barneys is a must for breakfast, BAR MARGOT at the Four Seasons for cocktails and weekend fun Uptown Car Club usually has the daytime events going into the evening with cocktails, cigars and you can check out the sexiest cars in Atlanta
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother is and will always be my biggest inspiration. I was raised by a single mother who spoiled me but also gave me tough love. She always encouraged me to be the best that I could be and no less. The lessons she taught I still apply to my life and in business…one being “Failure is not an option it’s a choice”
The book Principles by Ray Dalio and Buddhist Boot Camp by Timber Hawkeye have been encouraging in business and in my spiritual growth.
Now the individuals who get the most recognition for my success are the ones who said I would never amount to anything…this was and still is the fire that ignites my passion for SUCCESS!
