We had the good fortune of connecting with Martez ThaWrita Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Martez, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued being in the entertainment industry because I saw how much in love I fell with being in the studio and the creating process. To actually have your thoughts and ideas come to life is an amazing experience. Making money is really a bonus for me ’cause, honestly, I would do music if it came with an hourly, but the potential to make a lot more is always good, too. LOL Another main reason is being from Detroit, aka Motown, and thats where a lot of legends started. So, the creative process is something I will always be in love with.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most excited about finally forming a team that works. Before, there were so many ups and downs with people of different agendas that it was hard to reach the goal of where we are now. It was not easy, and there are still a few challenges. All in all my team now is consistent, and we are starting to gain traction in the industry. Having to deal with receiving so many ‘no’s’ gets frustrating, but overcoming obstacles is what we are doing one day at a time. We are succeeding at it by following just one simple phrase; Keep pushing. What I’ve learned along the way is to always have your business in order, learn the business as much as you can, and everyone is not trustworthy or deserving of your time. What I want the world to know about my brand, Creative Ink Music, is that you will always get dope and quality content.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to a few of my favorite food spots to include Louisiana Shack, Juicy Crab, and Hibachi Yum. Things we’d do would include visiting the GA Aquarium, Kennesaw Mountain trails, and any music events that may be happening during the week. We would also visit some of their favorite retail stores.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Outside of my songwriting team which includes Danyelle Clark and Carl Myles Jr, I want to give a special shout out to a few people that have helped me tremendously along the way. First mention goes to my family at Bang Village. I was gifted a lot of opportunity through them. I want to mention a great group of producers, Ryan Christian (Its Da Cook up) as well as producer Keddrick Gatson, aka KG Flyboi, that have helped me along the way. And special thanks to Divita Henderson ,TJ Yeaboah and Da Focuswriter for always supporting Creative Ink Music through promotion, knowledge and fact checking. Last but not least my significant other Talisa Rice and my mother Angela Mosley I love and appreciate you all thank you.
