We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquis Guthrie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marquis, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal for my career would be to have a talent agency that caters to people that possess multiple skills in the beauty industry.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe the thing that sets me apart from other artist is not only do I do makeup but I’m just a artist person all around, i paint, draw, swim, style, and play multiple instruments. As with everything it’s not ever easy but as long as you stay consistent and keep your goal in the fore front your always gonna have good results. My biggest lesson I have learned so far would be to take your time and go at your own pace, don’t be so quick to make a permanent move. I want my brand to let the world know that everything is ART!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One person that I would have to recognize on my Journey in makeup would be @makeupbybarbee on Instagram even though I had been doing makeup longer than her she took off quick in the reality tv world connecting her with some of the industry greats, not only did she bring me along to her jobs but she trusted me with her clients when she couldn’t take care of them and thats what created our tight bond. I will forever be great full for her and will go to the ends of the world for her.
