We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynda Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lynda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Boudoir by Lynda was created and inspired based upon a dear childhood friend. She was a caregiver for her husband who endured and overcame an unexpected illness during her husband’s time serving as a NYC Police Officer on 9/11 and also her beloved mother who suffered a rare illness all while being a full time mother to two beautiful children.
As I watched my dear friend wear so many hats. She never had time to pamper herself which made me want to do something special for her.
It also made me realize that too many times as women we are so busy taking care of others that we neglect the main person which is ourselves. After all if we don’t take care of ourselves, we are no good to the ones we love.
So I decided to give my childhood friend an entire mommy makeover from hair to makeup to wardrobe and a photoshoot where she felt herself but she also felt sexy again.
The ability to being able to spoil and pamper her for a day without the weight of the world on her shoulders. It was truly rewarding for me to watch this entire process unfold for her as I watched the spark come back into her eyes.
This experience gave me an idea of how I wanted to create that same feeling for other everyday women. I wanted each woman who I was blessed to meet and photograph to have that same experience.
Starting from the time they inquiry on a session and walked into my studio to when they receive their timeless portrait of themselves to look back at years from now.
And to have each woman always remember just how amazing they felt that day when these images were captured.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Boudoir by Lynda was created in 2016 to celebrate the inner beauty while empowering the confidence that lies within every single woman.
What sets me apart is my ability to celebrate everyday woman no matter their shapes, sizes and ages through a classy luxury boudoir experience.
What I am mostly excited and proud of is that I am creating a legacy for every day women that I am serving through their images.
It was not an easy journey getting to where I am now. I have had some bumps along the way. I have been able to overcome my challenges with patience and determination, lots of prayers and definitely a great support system.
I have learned along the way that it is okay if you fail. It is how you bounce back from failing that counts. I learned to not try to take on everything. To take care of myself in order to give others that I serve the very best of me.
I want the world to know that my brand story is about empowering everyday women through a form of self celebration through imagery. Redefining inner beauty through storytelling with intimate portrait photography.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my amazing childhood friend Marisel.
She has also been one of my biggest cheerleaders for as long as I can remember. Marisel has a kind & loving and selfless heart.
Marisel has always been such an inspiration to me since we were children and her strength still inspires me as an adult. After all she is the motivation behind Boudoir by Lynda.
There are not enough words to describe just how remarkable she is.
I am blessed to have such a wonderful human being like her in my life who I get to call not only my best friend but a part of my family.
