We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, is there something you believe many others might not?
I grew up believing that you needed a W2 from a good company to be a success. Of course, being employed and making a difference for the company you work for is rewarding. However, I’ve learned having my own company, multiple streams of revenue, and carving out my own destiny to be even more fulfilling.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company is the result of perseverance, faith and fate! I never set out to start a company when I began my career working in a furniture dealership, now I own one. Over the years I learned about strategies that won and methods that fail. Like a business student striving to do my best, I realized that the sheer act of listening was the best we could do to be successful. Today, WHB’s mantra is that “your goals are our mission.” I value transparency in communication and I believe this is appreciated by clients, colleagues and staff. Over-standing comes by preparing for the best outcomes.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start their journey through Atlanta in my neighborhood within Trilith. Depending on preference of activities – the season and weather: Must includes would be the High and MODA museums. Tourist spots like the Aquarium or Zoo are always popular. I’d love to take them to an outdoor amphitheater for a jazz or R&B concert. Atlanta is rich with historic sites to see, including statues and murals. Serenbe is great for the petting zoo, wine tasting and horseback riding, not necessarily in that order! The Fox is alway great for live shows. I would want to share the Atlanta foodie scene and some of my favorite spots like C&S seafood, Provino’s, Le Colonial, 7 Lamps, Nan, Herban Fix & so many others! With out great courses, we could enjoy a round of golf & certainly I hope they can attend my church, Berean Christian Church.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom remains the most influential in my life and career because she set the example of what an entrepreneur’s life looks like. The company bares her surname, Howard. As a little girl, I attended meetings where mom eloquently went over features and benefits in a way that won the respect and interest of captivated clients. It was only later in life that I learned that mom was introduced to business as a child too, observing my grandmother! Also a business woman at a time when it was truly a rare achievement. With this foundation, I’ve always been careful to select the right teams to align with. Establishing my partnerships with accomplished professionals keeps me ever learning, growing and expanding year after year.
