We had the good fortune of connecting with Linia White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Linia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly it was never really one moment where I said I am going to start a business. It was more like everything I had been doing my whole career was pointing me in this direction and eventually I just followed it.

I have spent over 20 years in the creative industry as an Art Director, Graphic Designer, and Print Production Manager. I worked for major companies, I built other people’s brands, and at some point it hit me that all of that knowledge and skill could be going into something of my own. Something that actually meant something to me personally.

With Paper Luxe Studios I wanted to create art and products that speak to Black culture in a real way. The product side of the business, the coloring books, the journals, the puzzles, the coloring pages, those are rooted in art therapy. There is real healing in those activities, especially for people who are often carrying a lot and not always given permission to slow down and just create. I wanted to give them that.

And then on the fine art side, I want people to understand that when you purchase one of my pieces you are not just buying something beautiful for your wall. You are investing in Black art. These are collector pieces that hold value and appreciate over time. That matters to me because generational wealth building through art is not a conversation that happens enough in our community. So the business really came out of wanting to serve people on both ends of that spectrum and do it at the highest level possible.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is rooted in digital design, but I am always pushing to make it feel like more than that. I work digitally and I have always been determined that my pieces stand strong next to anything created traditionally on canvas. That drive keeps me constantly experimenting with technology, always looking for new and innovative ways to add texture, depth, and dimension to my work. I developed a proprietary technique that I use to create what I call my Luxury Editions. These pieces have a richness and a physical presence to them that you do not typically associate with digital art, and that is very intentional. That technique is something I hold close, but the result speaks for itself.

What sets me apart is that I refuse to let digital art feel flat or disposable. I want every piece to command a room.
As far as my journey, it has not been a straight line at all. I spent years in the furniture business and when that began to shutter I had to pivot hard. That was not an easy season. But what I had to fall back on was my art background and my expertise as a creative, and honestly that pivot is what led me to Paper Luxe Studios. Sometimes the thing that feels like a loss is actually just a redirection toward what you were supposed to be doing all along.

What I want people to walk away with when they encounter Paper Luxe Studios is simple. I want them to be moved. I want them to feel seen. I want them to know that their existence, their beauty, their uniqueness, it all matters. That is the heartbeat of everything I create, from my luxury fine art pieces all the way down to a coloring book. If someone picks up my work and feels like it was made for them, then I have done my job.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day one we are hitting the BeltLine without question. Whether you walk it, bike it, or just post up at one of the spots along the way, the energy out there is unmatched. You have got great food, great people, incredible street art, and it just feels like the heartbeat of the city. I would make sure we stop at Krog Street Market so they can check out the great food.

Day two I am taking them mural hunting and we would gallery hop in castleberry hill or the Auburn Avenue and Edgewood corridor. There is so much incredible art on the walls of this city and most people drive right past it. I love finding those hidden gems and Atlanta rewards you for paying attention.

We are absolutely going roller skating at Cascade. That is non negotiable. Cascade is an Atlanta institution and if you have never skated there you have not lived. It is one of those experiences that is joyful from start to finish.

If we are going out on a Friday night, we are going to MJQ. It is the oldest continuously running dance club in Atlanta and honestly the only club I would willingly step foot in in this entire city.

For something more elevated, Jazz Fridays at the High Museum of Art is one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta. The museum transforms into this incredible social experience with live jazz, great drinks, and world class art surrounding you. It is the perfect mix of culture and a good time.

If they are here for a full week I would also plan a day trip, either down to Tybee Island outside of Savannah to get some beach time and explore one of the most charming cities in the South, or over to Stone Mountain for the outdoor experience. Sometimes you just need to get out of the city and breathe for a minute.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This one is easy for me because I genuinely would not be here without some very specific people in my corner.

My mom and my sister have shown me undying support and encouragement my entire entrepreneurial journey. Never a moment of doubt, always in my corner no matter what. That means everything when you are building something and the road gets hard.

My wife has been an absolute staple throughout all of it. Unwavering. I honestly do not think Paper Luxe Studios comes to fruition without her. She has been there through every season of this journey and I do not take that lightly.

I also have to give a huge shoutout to the RICE Center for Entrepreneurs here in Atlanta. They have poured so much business knowledge, resources, and support into me. But beyond the practical stuff, they gave me something that is harder to find, and that is confidence. They really pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone and go after my goals without apology. That kind of encouragement from an organization that believes in you changes the way you move.
I am standing on the shoulders of a lot of love and I do not forget that.
