We had the good fortune of connecting with Lexxi Moss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lexxi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up, you were always taught to live that cookie-cutter lifestyle: graduate high school, go to college and graduate, and then, find a good job. Well, that journey always seemed very boring to me. I don’t have the desire to work to fulfill someone else’s dreams when I could work just as hard to fulfill my own.  I’ve always felt that I am super talented creatively and definitely wanted to fulfill that passion, I just didn’t have an outlet to pour into it.  So when the Coronavirus pandemic first occurred, I really wanted to utilize the additional free time that I had on my hands to not only keep me busy but also explore what I love. Thus, Elle Moss, Co. was born. Elle Moss, Co. was created to set the mood and transform any environment in the most natural way possible. Our candles are handcrafted in small batches using phthalate-free essential oils and all-natural soy wax. I’m all about positivity and setting the stage for a peaceful mindset & a calming space, so I wanted that to reflect on my products as well. Initially, the idea was to start with just candles, I wanted to craft a candle that was fragrant enough without causing irritation and also burn for a longer time period than the typical candle. Since then, I’ve dove deeper into aspiring Elle Moss, Co. to be more of a home fragrance all-in-one. We have some really exciting items launching soon that will showcase a broader and diverse selection of home fragrance necessities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Every little detail I put into every part of Elle Moss, Co. is my art! I strive for Elle Moss, Co. products to be labeled as affordable luxury, as I don’t believe that every great candle has to cost $50 or more. So I wanted the love & soul that I put into my creations to be felt by my clients through the website or the Instagram page, and through the products. I absolutely love what I do with Elle Moss, Co. and I think that sets me apart from others. Of course your business is your baby but how you go about it and make it your own is how you set yourself apart from others in the same field. Owning a business is never easy, but it’s always worth it to have satisfied clients for me and knowing that what I’m doing makes me happy in the long run. There will be rough days but I constantly remind myself to KEEP GOING! No matter how tired I am, how stumped I get on an issue/problem, I always keep going. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a foodie so we would be here all day going down the list of my favorite spots! But if I had to choose one place, I would say Hotto Hotto Ramen Teppanyaki. Best ramen in town currently. I’m vegan so I usually order their Vegan Teppan Pot Stickers as an appetizer and then the Vegan Nikomi Ramen. So delicious! Runner up I’d say Hankook Takorea, which is a Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant with a twist. If you go, you MUST try the sesame fries. Pre-Covid, some of my other favorite things to do in the city include grabbing yummy ice cream at Big Softie in Summer Hill, thrift shopping, hanging out at local breweries with friends, and an occasional bowling night with my husband. I also love doing anything outdoors when the weather permits so walking or riding the beltline is a must! If we’re going out on the town, one of my go-to spots is Revery VR bar, they always have great featured DJs on the weekends. Their cocktails are delicious and of course you can play the virtual reality games or pool while hanging out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to thank Shakti Gawain the author of “Creative Visualization”. I would like to consider myself a spiritual being that is very in tune with herself mentally. I’m always preaching about positive thinking to speak good into your life and unto others. I truly believe that Elle Moss, Co. was a part of my creative visualized manifestation that came to fruition. I am so grateful for where we are right now! Often times, we are our own worst critics, we’re hardest on ourselves, so I would like to remind those who are fighting to reach a goal or an accomplishment that you can do it, you are capable of anything you set your mind to! No matter how many people are creating the same thing you are creating, what’s meant for you will always be for you and only you. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. Secondly, I would like to thank my husband, Divie Moss, who is my biggest fan. I wouldn’t have gotten far without his love and support. I would also like to thank all my close friends and family that have been super supportive and allowing me to use them as guinea pigs, especially Jessie Macon, the owner of @jetseaswimwear. She has a swimsuit line that is set to launch Summer 2021, definitely worth staying in tune for.
