We had the good fortune of connecting with Lenee Patterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lenee, how have you been keeping yourself busy during quarantine?
My most favorite thing i’ve been doing during quarantine is getting in touch with MORE of my creative and homemaker side. I’ve been building dollhouses and miniatures, painting, gardening, exploring new recipes, and surprisingly being more handy by fixing more things around my home.. YOUTUBE has been my bestfriend.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is really just an expression of my emotions. I don’t really submit to a style, I simply paint what I feel. My work is specifically inspired by the beauty, sensuality and strength of women. I am really excited about this new collection of pieces I’ve been inspired to create (The in between the sheets collection). I got where I am professionally by a lot of trial and error. When i first started I had no clue what I was doing, but I had passion and drive. I researched everything I needed to know and just did what worked for me. The one thing I want the world to know about my brand is that I put A LOT of emotion and my soul into my work, so when they’re supporting and purchasing a piece of my art, they’re essentially getting a little piece of ME.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, we would definitely hit the beach or the lake. Food and drink choices would be anything that has rooftop dining and a water view.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well for starters, my amazing support system and family; I do not know where i’d be without them. The other female artists I see out there like Stina Aleah, her amazing work is the reason I wanted to start painting with oils.
