Meet Lauren Hill | Maker, Creator, & Lifestyle Floral Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe that the most important factor behind my brand and its success is integrity. I have always operated under the idea that personality will open doors, but only character will keep them open. Everything that is created, delivered, and executed falls into the thought that it is genuine and true. Meaning, that the creation comes from a personal place, and the entire process of making sure that every client or customer is satisfied with the attention to detail and effort that goes into every single step of the journey. I value being honest with my customers and communicating with them, no matter what the situation. I believe that something as simple as operating with great morals and treating everyone as I would want to be treated can make you successful, and make people love you and your brand.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Full Bloom by Lauren has grown into more than just making floral arrangements. As I’ve learned how important flowers are in our spaces, I’ve developed this company into a support system to help infuse florals into our daily lives. This has truly been an evolution and is a continual journey. I got here by paying attention to detail, listening to others’ stories, and sharing my ideas. This has not been easy, it’s very scary to put your art out into the world. Once you put it out into the universe, it’s no longer yours, which can be frightening, but can also be invigorating. I have grown to accept that challenging part by understanding being blessed with a gift, and sharing that with others.
There are so many lessons that have been learned throughout my journey, and every day is an opportunity to learn something new. One of the major lessons that I’ve learned in floral design and what I do, is how vital it is to be confident in your work and ideas. Your confidence transmits opportunity, comfort, and inspiration. It was after a few years of experience, that I naturally became more confident in myself and my work, but after observing how that made other people feel, I began to understand the value in it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow…what a question. Atlanta is such a lovely city, with so much character and so many different personalities/neighborhoods. I’m a westside girl, but I like to explore. I would take them to a few of my favorite staple restaurants like Rumi’s Kitchen, Antico Pizza., and The Marcel I love to find new hot spots for food and just hanging out, so I would likely go to The Sylvan Hotel to have drinks and to get a little rooftop action in with the great weather that Atlanta has been having. I love Bar Margot for cocktails, Barcelona for food and wine, and I enjoy quaint spots like Little Spirit for a fun and easy night out. I’ve gotten a little removed from the party scene, but my party always includes food, drinks, and being outside! I’ve recently been visiting The Works at the Upper Westside and loving being in such a fun place with so many environments to enjoy. I love spaces with options for relaxing, drinking, and talking! That’s my easy idea of fun. I have become much more appreciative of simple things as I’m aging like fine wine! (kidding)
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout my village! I have had such great continual support from my family, friends, and my Hampton University network, that I could not be where I am without any of them. The encouragement is unmatched. It’s like as soon as the idea of Full Bloom by Lauren was conceptualized and put out there in it’s infancy, everyone in my network was so incredibly receptive to me in the space of florals. That helps fuel me daily. When I feel like I’m sharing too many flowers or feeling discouraged in the new world of entrepreneurship, my village lifts me up. Everyone needs that, and I must recognize how much it means to me!!
