We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Heusner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My yoga journey began almost 7 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child, Maddox. In an effort to maintain my physical and mental health throughout my pregnancy as well as prepare my body for what was to come, I took up yoga, and have been in love with it ever since. As I continued my practice, I felt that a yoga studio would be a perfect fit for the Watkinsville community as I have found that our community is very health conscious and I wanted to contribute to that by creating an environment where people from all walks of life and different stages of fitness felt welcome and comfortable. Thus, allowing myself to be a tremendous asset to the community to inspire and motivate our members to become the best version of themselves, both physically and mentally.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Currently, my favorite location in the area is Wire Park in Watkinsville, which is where Lotus Yoga will be located. Wire Park is family and pet friendly and offers a little something for everyone. They have food, drinks and entertainment every weekend. I love supporting all of the small businesses. Wire Park is a great place to congregate in the community.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would also love to shoutout Meghan Guenther with Mulberry Creative Co. for helping Lotus Yoga with all of our branding needs and creating a beautiful website.
