Meet Lacie Edwards | Boutique Owner, Fashion Student & Patient Care Technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lacie Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lacie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
To be honest I never really picture myself having a business at first. I knew that I loved fashion and clothes and enjoyed showing my creativity through what I put on. It was also a way of therapy for me because it’s this saying “when you look good you feel good”so that was my motto. God gave me this thought and dream to start my own clothing boutique. I honestly didn’t have any idea what I was doing lol. But, I knew that I had a creative eye and knew how to draw so started sketching my drawings that I desired to turn into clothing pieces. And a way for us as women to feel and know that we are beautiful. We are all masterpieces. I wanted to create clothing for women to feel there best in to feel like they belong in the bodies they were blessed with and given. Society and culture is hard on us already we should be able to make a statement that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in who we’ are as people.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Paitent Care Technician. I work in a hospital caring for sick patients providing the care and comfort they need. I never thought I would end up working in hospital but, my outlook on life change when I started taking care of my dad. I took care of him for 7 years thank God he is still living but, I decided to move to Atlanta to really start my career in nursing and fashion. I would say it was an eye opener coming to Atlanta Georgia. Seeing so many successful people taught me that you can do anything if you put your mind to and faith to believe it will happen for you! I want every woman and man to know to it possible and achievable for your dreams to come true in a way you’ve never imagined before. So why wait? Start now!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I would like to say being in Atlanta is such a fun experience because there’s always something to do or discover. So when my friends come to visit we first start with brunch. One of my favorite places I’ve been to is Breakfast at barneys their food is so good. Daytime events after brunch include botanical gardens they just open up there Alice in wonderland and I’m excited to check it out! Over all fun place to just enjoy all the beautiful plants and scenery they have there if you like to enjoy the outside. Then I’m on my way over to Chattahooche food works because everytime I go there with friends it’s always a vibe. Very lively and you can even meet people if you’re looking to socialize. A lot of people talk about the battery to which is in Cumberland area I went one time and it was beautiful so many food places I would definitely go back. If you’re looking to go out for drinks Overstory rooftop bar in Westin Gwinnett area is giving getaway tropical vibes. Such a beautiful place to go to enjoy a fun girls night out or date night. For me as I get older I like chill bars, places I can go to and unwind. One of the most creative things I’ve done with one of my friends was did a spontaneous hiking trip in the mountains. I had so much fun being in the moment and being present.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout all of my friends and family that truly believe in me and in my vision. Specifically my cousin Ciara Alexandra she told me to keep going when I really wanted to give up she deserve to be celebrated. I want to give another shoutout to SewWithSelf you guys! When I tell you it’s so important for you to have a tribe with whatever you desire to accomplish in life it really is! Having this sewing academy in my life to really teach me the ins and out of sewing has been life-changing I can never say thank you enough to the owner Gynella.
