We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiayanna Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiayanna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would have to say it’s a multitude of factors that contribute to my success ie work ethic, knowledge and my support system. Yet, the one thing that sets me apart is my passion for what I do! I truly love the logistics industry! To be able to wake up and do something that I enjoy is a luxury that many are not offered, so if I am a vessel for someone else to do the same then I am winning!!!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Here at KCK Dispatch & Logistics , we are a full service dispatching company! We offer everything from dispatching, payroll, trucking compliance, set up and more!!
The thing that sets me apart from other companies is I truly love what I do!! It’s not a moment when you can’t talk truck with me! My face lights up when I can help someone else join this industry!! I truly love Trucking! So it’s not a job for me I want anyone who comes into contact with my company to succeed!
Initially I entered the logistics game as a passive income but it eventually became my life! The logistics industry isn’t easy as some make it seem on social media but it’s just like any other profession! You have your good and bad days! The trucking industry is a heavily regulated industry and I am constantly learning new things!
My biggest challenge is money management and marketing! I am an introvert at heart so staying consistent and marketing on social media is really not my thing but I am working on q1 content now lol
Money management, of course when you have never reached a certain tax bracket and all of a sudden you do it’s scary but I am sitting down with financial planners and CPA’s to ensure I am making the right financial decisions
My top 3 lessons I have learned along the way are!!
1. Prioritize your ME time, as an entrepreneur wearing multiple titles it’s some hard to just relax and enjoy your success but it’s definitely deserved and needed
2. Your price is your price!
3. Stay consistent, nothing I wanted for my business manifested until I stopped treating my business like a hobby!
If anyone can learn anything from my story, it would be to just believe in yourself!! And if you want something go after it!! Nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream!! You have to put in the work to see your dream come true!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I am out and about I am definitely brunchin in the city! Milk and Honey on main st in college park
During the day – high museum, Piedmont park for a bike ride, Stone Mountain for a hike, Nouveau bar and grill east point live karaoke and great food
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s several people who deserve recognition in helping along my journey!! 1. My kids, who always believe in me!! I am their superwoman cliche as it sounds!
2. My business partner/ boyfriend who gave me the freedom to concentrate on my craft without worries!
3. My family & friends each and every member has been super supportive!
4. My clients for trusting me !
5. Every person who has sent me a referral or shared my content!!
So it’s not just one person for me each and every individual has assisted me in getting to where I am!’ I still have a ways to go but I am definitely thankful!!
