We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaylee Crossfire and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kaylee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I realized early on how hard I was working to build someone else’s dreams. So I made a decision in 2016 to Quit my Job and focus on my own brand.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since a very young age I’ve always wanted to be a musician I just loved music to much not to take it seriously. With hard work and dedication I was able to brand my self well enough over the 10 years to catch the attention of a casting director for the hit Netflix show Rhythm and Flow. That was an amazing opportunity for me to be on such a huge platform like Netflix and I represented well for my city. But I wouldn’t be who I am with out the support of my community, that is why it very important for me make sure that I give back in my community by starting Events and programs that others could benefit from. In 2013 I started Female Takeover Showcase to give the talented female musicians and business women of color an opportunity to showcase their skills. And most recently in 2020 I launched Fueling Your Fire Music Academy an Academy where new artists ages 13 and up can learn about the music industry and develop their talents These two platforms are dear to me because I know so many have genuinely benefited and were able to learn and gain so much.
