We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Belle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie Belle, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Marietta, GA. A suburb just north of Atlanta. Being in music the city that i grew up in influences a lot. I write about my friends, family and the places i hang out. Atlanta’s culture is also a huge influence in my work. Growing up in such an affluent city has given me and edge and a certain taste.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to think of my art as a reflection of myself and the story of my life. Im working to get to a point where my songwriting is just a stream of consciousness. It can be tough for me to be that vulnerable and casual but i feel like thats where the real magic is made. Every artist i admire is able to let go of the norms and truly be their self. The beautiful thing about being an artist (in any capacity) is every day i get to learn more about myself and ways i can be more fearless.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many good spots in Atl! One of my favorite areas is of course the belt line and Virginia highlands. Youre close to the city, piedmont park and little 5, with so many great spots and restaurants around. I’d have to take them to my favorite sushi place Eight in midtown and maybe finish out the night at Spaceman in buckhead for some vibes and views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
my parents play an immense part in my career and success. They have always offered so much support, from driving me to shows before i had a license, giving me the best advice they can and never charging me rent when i have to come back home. It would be almost impossible for me to do this without them. I would also like to shout out my A&R manager Kee Nelson. Kee is a newer addition to my team but in the last year has really opened my eyes to the world of marketing and has helped me secure a publishing admin deal with MIME!
