We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamber Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kamber, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Vulnerability. Every facet of my business involves some form of openness that no one wants to talk about in corporate America, and it makes its mark. Just yesterday, I was told by an audience member that she trusts my brand because I release honest content – and a lot of it! At the end of the day, I am here to help young professionals succeed in the workplace and if by being vulnerable about my own career journey does that + encourages others to do the same, then I’m here for it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The YoPro Know got its start after my first negative career experience. Think back to your first job. Was it your dream job? I’m willing to bet that it probably wasn’t! We are taught in school to choose one of five career paths (medicine, law, finance, etc…) that are NOT the only opportunities out there.

The YoPro Know became a blog because I wanted to share other young professionals’ (“YoPros”) stories, illustrating how many career paths are out there for the youngest working generations (GenZ and Millennials). It became a business once I recognized that the content from these YoPros was so strong that we could make change with it. So I set out on the mission to help young professionals succeed in the workplace through:
* Stories. We’ve interviewed 400+ YoPros since March 2018 and counting! We offer a podcast/video series and host regular blog contributors to share their vulnerable stories about both their successes and hardships
* Professional development opportunities. We offer memberships that include training to take your YoPros career to the next LEVEL.
* Business consulting. We work with businesses to reach more YoPros by helping them better recruit, engage, and retain young professionals.

We are reinventing the workplace by starting with the YoPros. One step at a time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a big fan of yoga, so Yonder Yoga takes the cake for me! As far as food goes, Superica is a favorite and if you’re looking for a concert right after, The Eastern!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, this is a tough one! There are so many people in my “Board Of Directors” for my life, as I like to call it. My parents and brother have been there since day one of this crazy dream. From listening to every podcast interview to encouraging me to just launch this thing, they continue to be my biggest fans. I have also had several friends and mentors along the way who push me and give me the hard feedback when others won’t, so I’d like to give a big shout out to Caroline Jennings, Tim Justice, Derek Pederson, Daniel Dye, Lindsey Stemann, Rebecca Heiss, and so many others. Clay also gets a special shout out here! They are the reason the business is where it is today.
