We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Howell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am an Atlanta native. Being from Atlanta from birth til now I feel has had a unique impact on who I am today. Growing up, Atlanta was big on southern hospitality so that set the foundation about how I conduct myself on a day to day basis. Now that the city is much faster and a thriving place for entrepreneurs, it has groomed me to be someone who has an old fashioned, southern work ethic combined with being able adapt to the new ways of speeding up processes with the development of social media.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I restore sneakers, sell sneakers, design clothes, and am a stylist. What sets me apart from others is the experience that comes with using my services. I spoke earlier about southern hospitality and that is how I treat my customers. I give them a neighborly experience from start to finish and I take the time to explain the restoration process and provide tips for how to maintain sneakers. The thing that I am most proud of is the fact that I’ve gotten to the point where people are starting to ship me bulk orders. It may seem like a minimal cause to celebrate to some, but for me it speaks to the quality of service and the experience that I provide because there are people that restore sneakers everywhere yet people choose me vs someone that is geographically closer to them. The route here has been interesting to say the least. I got here professionally by the power of social media. Prior to taking that step to posting what I was doing, it was just a fun hobby for me. As I stated earlier, posting one video quickly turned a hobby into a business and I had to learn how to run a business parallel to how business was growing. The route here wasn’t easy, but when you have a village behind you then it helps to straighten some of the curves that come with running a business. Along the way I’ve learned many things but some of the most important lessons are: if you don’t set a value on what you do then you allow others to do it for you, believe in yourself and your gifts and the same way that others do, you need a team of people that care for you, that you can trust, and that will hold you accountable, and lastly a good reputation is the best form of advertisement. I want the world to know that my business values the person to person relationship over the service that needs to be done. Building relationships with people and making people feel valued is the icing on the cake in tandem with the quality of service that I provide.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to Scotch Bonnet for Jamaican food, Vortex for burgers, Clays Sports Grill for wings, E-Gyu for sushi/Korean BBQ, and Pirate’s Boil for seafood. Places that have good drinks and that are fun to hang out at are Slush, Cru, Fellaship, and the Bank. Cool places to visit are the High Museum, Trap Museum, Georgia aquarium, and professional sporting events. No matter whether you like clubbing, bar hopping, site seeing, adventure, etc, Atlanta has something for everyone.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely would love to shoutout my family for being instrumental with giving me love, support, and encouragement ever since I can remember. My friend group deserves a shoutout as well not only for their support, but for them continuing to challenge and push me to push my limits and never become complacent. Iron sharpens iron. Most importantly, I’d like to shoutout God for blessing me to be supported by so many great people and also for always being my light and security during the times where I may feel unmotivated, unclear, and even fearful to take certain steps.
