We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Herndon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Consistency and Persistence definitely helped me succeed the most. Staying consistent kept me on track and ready for the next steps to take. Persistence helped me reach success and still keeping me going to get to the next level. No matter what setbacks have happened, I’ve kept my eyes on the goal and never quit!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Good Vibe Fit was a dream of mine forever while working for corporate companies. I wanted to have my own fitness business so bad! I wanted my own business because I was tired of not seeing results and members and employees being treated unfairly. I wanted my brand to ensure clients and myself were being treated fairly, reaching goals, making a difference, and having fun while doing it.

I have a vast background in gymnastics, soccer, physical therapy, training, wellness coaching, life coaching, and nutrition guidance but what sets me apart is the way I connect with people in a genuine way. I listen to my clients needs and goals and do my best to get them to where they want to be. I believe most of my success comes from just being unapologetically honest and always doing right by others. Creating my own business definitely was not easy and took years before actually seeing success. After staying dedicated for 3 years I finally started seeing progress. Clients were referring me to friends, old clients from other gyms started contacting me, and before I knew it, I had enough clients to leave the gym I was working for.

Consistency, Persistence, and failing are all part of starting your own business and I have learned many lessons along the way. Never be afraid to ask for help is one of them. I am a self sufficient person so that was the toughest lesson for me to learn. Another lesson was that not all failures make you or your business a failure. In fact taking risks, failing, and learning from the mistakes are what makes you succeed! Patience is another lesson I needed to learn. I wanted to have a brand, logo, website, apps, clothing, equipment, money and clients right away. I have learned over time that being patient and doing things the right way which is usually the longer way is worth the wait.

I want my brand to give people good feelings or vibes if you will. I want my brand to help people feel better, confident, strong, healthy, and happy! I also want my brand to give back and since I have a love for puppies, a portion of my proceeds will go to a dog shelter each month. That way my clients can feel good by giving back by getting healthy! Who doesn’t get good vibes from knowing they are helping puppies?!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to: Day 1: Belt Line and Ponce City Market to walk around and try all the foods and beers and shop a little while seeing a part of the city
Day 2: Aquarium during the day and ferris wheel at night
Day 3: Downtown Roswell and eat at La Roux, Ceviche, Zest, or Salt and the Gate City Brewery
Day 4: Downtown Woodstock, Reformation Brewery and eat appetizers at Freight Kitchen and Tap and Century House for Dinner
Day 5: drive past the big chicken just to show them on the way to Kennesaw Mountain and eat at L on North in Marietta Square and end the night at McCrackens
Day 6 and 7: Go to Blueridge amd fainting goat winery, and massage and spa while up there and maybe the blue ridge brewery if there is time

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Dad helped me get into running and the gym and always made me go when I was a kid and didn’t really want to. It wore off on me and I actually started to enjoy it. My college advisor Dr. Petrillo, College Professors- both Dr. Mclesters, My mom teaching me persistence, my step parents both owning their own businesses, and the book: “You are a badass at Making Money” by Jen Sincerro.
