We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerijanneice Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerijanneice, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always loved art and found comfort in trying to express myself through that. I actually really embraced it more when I loss my father it helped as therapy. I always knew I was creative because as I child I made something out of nothing. Starting off as a little girl I always helped my mom with catering her events and decorating for parties. I just always had a eye for it

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the founder of S.W.E.A.T.S sisters With Every Aspect To Succeed. I started this organization to help women with hardship find the resources they need. I want to make certain that woman don’t have to go without the adequate help they rely on. I also have a foundation which is Loads of Love in which I take donations of bears and handwritten cards from locals kids and parents to give to kids in Children’s Hospital of Birmingham Al. Over the pandemic I started using my art as therapy and plan to start my classes for kids who deal with anxiety and depression called Snacs and Strokes. And for my adults I have Sessions of Strokes which is for adults who deal with Anxiety and Depression it is a free expression class which when enable the person to express themselves through art therapy. I feel like these classes will be life changing. I want to change the statistics of Bi Polar disorder and bring more awareness to the matter. Right now this is a serious matter that needs attention. On a daily basis we are losing thousands if not millions unaccounted for to self infliction. I have several other adventures but the people will just have to stay tuned to see what’s in store. I plan to change the World.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m actually a big adventurist, I would invite them to a day of hiking. I love Moss Ridge which is a Nature Preserve located in Hoover it has to be the most beautiful and calming waterfalls. I love a night spot called the Atomic Lounge located downtown of Birmingham,. You may have to wait in line but the experience is worth it. Being a art lover it has all the oddest decor very art deco. The drinks are specialties but wait did I tell you it had games all kinds. Uno, Connect 4 , Monopoly, you name it. They even had themed rooms. For eating out I love Chop Suey a Chinese spot I’ve been going to for almost 20 years best ever.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I honestly owe this to being a parent and having to fall flat on my face and pick myself up. My kids Alexandria and King. They are the heart of me. Many times I felt like giving up but I knew I couldn’t disappoint those faces. I owe alot to my parents. My mother Deborah Harris for always being hard and me and wanting the best for me. My father Jerry Walker whom has passed, for giving me the gift of what I do now. He was very efficient with resources and worked as a resource worker as well. My love Leanard Sims for even in his toughest moment chose to push me even harder. But most of all I give thanks to God for giving me life abundantly, for giving me a second chance and to make a difference in someone else life. I have been blessed with some wonderful supporters the P.A.C and this is only the beginning
