We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremica Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly I have always loved doing hair; I grew up watching my aunts and uncles braid and cut hair on my grandmas porch so you can say it kind of runs in my blood. It has always made me feel good to make other feel good and with that I fell in love. However, I didn’t get the nerve to actually start my own business i till my job decided to let me go the week before Christmas in 2020 and from that moment I said no more if I’m going to give all of this energy and hard work to something it will be my own business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What started the spark to radiant creations? Well I grew up in the hair business watching my aunts and uncles do hair out of their homes.I started doing hair around 9 years old, an it started with me just doing my own hair at first. As time went on i gradually started doing my cousins and aunts hair. By the time I was twelve years old I was now getting paid to do others hair outside of my family.
Along with doing hair I was a straight A student. Everyone use to always tell me I was too smart to be doing hair, that I needed to actually go to school and do something with my life. Trying to listen family and friends I decided to go to college for management with a minor in accounting. In doing so I found out that I don’t like desk jobs and hair was my true passion bacuse the only time I was enjoying working was when I found myself working on friends hair for party’s and events.
I then started to learn I had to follow my heart because I don’t want to live a unhappy life like so many tend to do. I then started doing more hair to substitute jobs I had. Things had seem to be looking up for me, I had gain a study cliental base and was down to one part time job, hair full time , and school full time. Sadly in 2016 hurricane matthew hit the east coast and sent my world spending, which came with one of my biggest challenges in life.
In losing my apartment, car, and having to take a year off from school to move back home I faced another critical question? Am I cut out for this hair buzz? I have to build a new cliental base and get a new location. Am I really going to be able to make this happen? As I ask my self these questions I just reflected on those moments of working for others which helped me remember my love for doing hair and decided to push forward. Just remember if you love what you do it will always help you push through.
My love for making people feel good is what my brand is all about, and bringing out that raw royal confidence with in us all. I feel that if you act as if you already have it you will attract it,so I strive to give each and every person I touch that feeling. Just take a moment to remember a time when you felt unstoppable; it could have been because a outfit, a pair of shoes, make up, or even a hair style but because of the confidence boost you got that job, or your became the top car salemens in the job; that is what radiant creations is all about. Creating energy and vibes and expressing it through hairstyles and fashion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For places with good food and drinks we would go to tin lizzy, Impluse, and herald chicken and ice bar. For a great outing with good music and vibes would be the royal peacock, boogalooo loung, and jacks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
