We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Pessima and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me the most important factor for my brand is keeping Christ first. Knowing that He has helped me get to a measure of success that I dreamt of is an even more reason I want to always thank Him. In so many seasons I wanted to give up, but He always showed me that He was there helping me along the way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Let’s just start by saying this journey has not been easy. I moved to Atlanta in 2006 to attend college at Clark Atlanta University. I graduated in 2010, after facing that common question graduates have “Will I get a job in my field?” I was able to start my career as a producer for Pastor Creflo Dollar. Working for his ministry taught me so much about production as we produced tv segments, documentaries, talk shows. We really learned it all! But during that season the most important thing I was able to discover was who God truly is and eventually I started to see my identity and who He created me to be. Learning more about myself and the way I thought had me go back and heal from unresolved emotions from losing my parents, to the trauma of being a victim of gun violence, to rejection. I knew those were things I had to restore before I reached any success in my business and my personal life. So I went on a continuous journey of inner healing so I can become the woman that I see in my dreams. A successful mogul and household name in the film arena.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends visit we have a great time. I love Poor Calvin’s, Toast on Lenox, Victory, and any nice restaurants. I am definitely a foodie! Outside of restaurants I’m a homebody, if it’s not a networking event I just like to honestly be in the house or in intimate settings indulging in a game night full of laughs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends are vital in my success. I give honor to them because I hear so many people share how the closest people around them didn’t believe in them. I never experienced that. My family and friends are my biggest cheerleaders, support system, and even investors. They have always believed in me and my vision even at times when I didn’t believe in myself.
