Meet Jazmine Washington

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmine Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazmine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
To be honest, I wasn’t looking to start my own business lol. Prior to starting my business, my career path was in the accounting field and I was focused on moving up within that field to become a Forensic Accountant. However, God had other plans ! Once God had me step out on Triple Threat, I realized my “WHY” was to give back my love for the sport. I wanted to assist athletes with obtaining their goals. Whether the goal is to just grow and have fun within the sport or it is to play at the next level, I want to assist and be apart of that journey for them. It’s beyond rewarding for me to witness the grind and see their dreams come to fruition. I also wanted to create a safe space for athletes to be themselves unapologetically while teaching them the sport of volleyball. It’s not just teaching these athletes the sport of volleyball. It’s teaching them to think for themselves, learn how to persevere, put themselves in a position to have choices instead of decisions as much as possible, and so many other life lessons that is imperative to learn to be able to navigate through this society.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting a business is the easy part. Sustaining and growing your business is where the challenges begin. You have to always bet on yourself. You have to bet on yourself on the bad days when everything around you looks crazy and remain consistent. However , you also have to bet on yourself on the good days to make sure you make the right decisions to remain discipline with what God has blessed you with. This is how I have overcome challenges. I learned that consistency is the key. You have to be able to work the plan and be able to adjust and adapt if the plan takes you on a detour. I’m super excited about the next chapter that God has for Triple Threat!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were coming down to visit, anyone who knows me knows that the first place we are going is Kabob Land lol. I love a chill patio vibe. Then we would have to go to Ponce City Market and go to my favorite Italian restaurant. After that, we have to walk the belt line. This week long visit would consist of concerts, museums, trying new restaurants, and laughter! Atlanta has so much to offer on any given weekend. It’s always a tough time to decide what to get into.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first shout out would have to be God. I’m living in answered prayers. My dad deserves a huge shout out ! He literally put me on punishment to try out for my high school volleyball team lol. It was not my idea to be come an athlete. He saw that I could go far with this and he was right! Therefore, my parents sacrificed a lot to put me in the position that I’m in today. I started playing my junior year of high school and by the end of my senior year, I went on to play Division 1 volleyball. He was always in my corner pushing me past my break point. We definitely had moments of bumping heads for sure lol….. and it evolved into a thriving and successful business. I would also have to mention Del Hughes of Atlanta Boom Volleyball Club and April Carroll . These two saw the potential within me and molded it into talent! I’m beyond blessed to have been mentored by these two great coaches !
