We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmine J. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jazmine, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I think having and keeping a stable work life balance is one of the most difficult things especially as an entrepreneur. Having balance also provides a Sense of structure and stability. For me this is one of My daily struggles. It definitely changed for me when I became a mother. To any mother her child/children are her world. There are times in my industry that I actually spend a lot of time away from my children. I operate as a single business owner meaning I don’t have any help with my clientele. It’s simple I don’t work I don’t eat which is not an option when I have a family to feed. It can be very difficult to please everyone. You have to put things in order of importance to be able to fully achieve a healthy balance. This is one of my daily struggles but I strive daily to keep my balance in order.

The art of nails is the blank canvas that I see With every client. I consider myself to be a modern, chic nail artist. I like my Clients nails to look very neat and clean. I think that being in the beauty industry is definitely very challenging to get to the point where you make a living doing this requires a lot of dedication, time, consistency, and practice. When I started I was working one day a week now I’m full time with a heavy clientele meaning I’m normally booked a month in advance. Ive learned a lot of patience and also that building your clientele can be a slow process, but determination and surrounding yourself with the right people will take you along way. As a Nail Design Architech I strive to provide you a place of love, laughter, education, and relaxation centered around your nail and foot care needs.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I’m fairly new to the Atlanta area so I don’t have any particular favorite spots I’m always trying to find new places to visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a few people that I would like to dedicate my success to. First I’d like to that my parents for always pushing me to do great things, my fiancé Lamel for always listening to all my ideas and supporting me in all my endeavors , my closest friends for always encouraging me to stand tall and believe in myself and last but not least my clients with out you all My J Nailz would not be successful.
