We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaye Mosley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaye, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
One of the most important lessons Tea Amour has taught us is patience. Patience is required to be a successful entrepreneur. Things will not always go as planned or on schedule but usually right on time. Running your own operation means you wear a lot of hats. Sometimes it can be challenging but one must have the strength to preserver. Patience is needed to deal with vendors, suppliers, delayed ETAs, event mishaps, and working with others.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The most proudful moment of this journey has been doing this with my daughter. The most exciting part is sharing ideas between two different generations. No, it was not easy starting this venture. Tea Amour began from a dream that God gave me in the midst of Covid. At the time I was unemployed, I decided to share the idea with my daughter and niece, and they were excited about it. Soon after the name was brought to me, and the journey began. Tea Amour started with $500.00. My daughter used YouTube and Google for everything from website design to getting an LLC.

Throughout this journey we have learned a lot along the way. For the first three months sales were slow. We stayed the course kept promoting our brand through social media, family, and friends. Soon after one our biggest opportunities came. Our team has learned patience and perseverance. A major lesson we learned is to assess all avenues of an opportunity before agreeing to anything.

Tea Amour would want the world to know we are very passionate about our company, and we stand on integrity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting the city, The first stop would the New Black Wallstreet to see my store and visit other black owned businesses. Afterwards we would go downtown and see the GA Aquarium and High Musuem. For dinner we would eat at Atlanta Fish Market. To finish the night, we would see a show at The Fox Theatre.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would give the biggest shout out to my mother. My work ethic and determination come from her. Family is one of the biggest motivators for me. I want to see my loved ones happy and well. Tea Amour was reborn from the passing of my sister who wanted me to pursue entrepreneurship again. I continue the business to create a legacy for my daughter. She is the future that will bring more generations to come.
