Meet Traci Jefferson

We had the good fortune of connecting with Traci Jefferson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Traci, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
If I had to choose one thing that has made the greatest impact on my children, it would be that I never gave up. No matter how difficult life became, I kept going. They watched me face adversity head-on, overcome obstacles, and continue to move forward with faith, strength, and determination.
I wanted my children to see that challenges don’t define you, it’s how you respond to them that does. I wasn’t afraid to share my story with them. I wanted them to know that my past wasn’t something to be ashamed of. It became the foundation for the woman I am today. Every setback helped shape me into a stronger mother, daughter, sister, friend, wife, and businesswoman.
More than anything, I hope I taught them resilience. I hope they learned that no matter what life throws at them, they can keep striving, keep believing in themselves, and never quit. Most importantly always stay true to who you are!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is transformation. While many people know me as a hairstylist, what I truly create is confidence. Hair is simply the canvas. My purpose has always been to help people see the beauty, strength, and confidence that already exist within them.
For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of transforming not only my clients’ appearances but also the way they see themselves. Whether it’s through a haircut, a conversation in my salon chair, fashion styling, motivational speaking, or simply sharing my life experiences, my goal is always the same, and that is to inspire people to believe that no matter what they’ve been through, they have the power to become who they’re meant to be.
My journey was anything but easy. I started my career doing hair in the kitchen of my trailer as a young single mother with two little kids! I knew I was destined for more. I had faith, determination, and a dream. When I moved to a new city, I had to rebuild my clientele from the ground up. There were seasons of loss, disappointment, financial challenges, and moments when giving up would have been the easier option. But every obstacle became another opportunity to grow. Instead of allowing adversity to define me, I allowed it to develop me.
Today, I’m the owner of two salon locations in Georgia and Alabama. I am an author, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, fashion stylist, and founder of a nonprofit organization. Every accomplishment I have is proof that consistency, resilience, and faith can take you farther than talent alone.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that transformation begins on the inside. Success isn’t about avoiding hardship, it’s about refusing to let hardship stop you. I’ve learned that your past doesn’t disqualify you; it prepares you for your purpose.
What I want the world to know is that my brand has never been just about beauty or fashion. It’s about helping women discover the best version of themselves. I want every person who encounters my work to leave believing they are capable of overcoming adversity, embracing their story, and walking confidently in their purpose.
In the words of one of my faithful clients Lisa Ann, I truly believe that I touch more hearts than hair!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, the first stop would definitely be my salon. I couldn’t let her leave without giving her one of my signature looks!
After her makeover, we’d head to one of my favorite breakfast spots, Café 1485. If we happened to be visiting during brunch, we’d go to my favorite brunch restaurant in downtown Newnan, Let’s Talk Brunch. The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is always a vibe.
If she needs her nail done while she’s here for the week, I will definitely take her to my good friend Tiffany Sumler nail studio Polish Me Pretty in downtown Newnan.
After we finish , we’d spend some time walking around Ashley Park, browsing the shops, and maybe stopping for some ice cream. I love simple moments like that.
We’d drive over to Peachtree City and walk around the lake. My husband and I love spending time there. It’s peaceful, beautiful, and one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
We would definitely head over to Trilith in Fayetteville. I absolutely love walking around there. The scenery is beautiful, the restaurants are great, and the entire area has such a fun, laid-back atmosphere.
Majority of the time we’d be chilling set my home because I love it there!!
But for me, the perfect day isn’t about doing the most expensive things, it’s about good food, great conversations, beautiful scenery, and making memories with the people I love. That’s my idea of the perfect time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would first like to give a special shout-out to my mother, Stella Alvis. She is one of the strongest women I know. Watching her battle cancer for the fourth time and still choose to fight with grace, strength, and unwavering faith has been one of the greatest inspirations in my life. She continues to show up every single day with a beautiful spirit, rarely complaining, even while carrying a burden that most people couldn’t imagine. Her perseverance and her will to live give me hope and remind me to stop complaining about the small things. She has taught me what true strength looks like, and I am forever grateful to call her my mother.
I also have to recognize my husband, Marcus Jefferson. He has always believed in me, sometimes even more than I believe in myself. While I dream big, he always sees an even bigger future for me. No matter what vision or idea I bring to him, whether it’s big or small, he always supports me wholeheartedly. He celebrates my dreams, encourages me when I doubt myself, and constantly reminds me of the greatness he sees in me. Having someone who believes in your purpose that deeply is a blessing, and I’m thankful every day that he’s by my side.
