We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Street and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor is really generic but it’s to never give up! A lot of people are gonna doubt you. Even when you establish your self because of jealousy or hating or some other unknown factor people just don’t wanna see you succeed unless they are too! But as long as you believe in your self and pursue what you love then success will follow!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what sets me apart from others is I’m not just doing it for money! I’m doing this because I truly love what I do! There’s no feeling like being on stage In front of a crowd of people and watching there reaction to what I’m spitting or how I’m putting rhymes together! It makes me feel alive if that makes sense? I also think that I want others to succeed and that makes me stick out too. There’s plenty of room at the top and that’s something no one tells you. Im so proud that we’ve built something that others can look at and feel inspired by. I know for a fact we’ve had an impact on the music scene already and that makes me extremely proud too. Now that being said it definitely takes hard work and dedication to make your self something in a game where thousands maybe millions of other people are doing the same thing! You gotta make your self stand out and I think we’ve done just that with this music! It’s not easy but as long as you stick to yourself and never change up and just be real about you then people have no choice but to respect it at some point! Even if they’re secreting waiting for you to fall they’ll have to look at you first and see you’re standing out above others to watch you fall! I also think that’s something to to learn from is not every body wants you to succeed! Some people just see you as a ticket out and you gotta recognize yourself who’s real around you! Some people wanna think of you as a stepping stone but you gotta keep it real and keep pushing past that! That being said I want people to remember me for the positive things I’ve done for the community and not the negative! A lot of media nowadays is built around hate and putting others down. I want people to look at me and see someone who’s really tryna do good in the world despite coming from practically nothing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re not from Pittsburgh and you’re coming to Pittsburgh I think you gotta stop and see the overlook in Mount Washington! Especially at night! I think seeing the whole view of the city is just a beautiful thing and to know how much talent is in the city makes it even better! Speaking of talent in the city make sure to stop at a underground show at 1 live studios and catch some of the great up and coming artist! You definitely won’t be disappointed! You can also catch a game downtown because as many know us Pittsburghers love our sports teams! As for eating wise you got places like the melting pot, burgatory, Primaniti brothers and so much more I can’t even think of rn I’d also like to check out Texas de Brazil al though I’ve never been there myself I just heard it’s super good!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Some one who’s helped me through it all is definitely my bro Timmy Turn Up! He’s always believed in me even when I didn’t sometimes! I don’t know if I’d be half as far if he didn’t give me the confidence to be here! Also my family has been super supportive in everything I do. Most family’s would be like.. are you sure? You wanna be a rapper? But my family believed in me since day 1 and I couldn’t be more thankful for them!
