We had the good fortune of connecting with Iesha Congo Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Iesha, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?

I am inspired by The word of God
My mission and purpose is directly related to the word of God . I use the principle of the Bible in my nonprofit work and in any business dealing as well as any encounter I have with individuals on a daily basis .
I have made it my mission to bring ministry into the marketplace . My focus is to inspire others, because the word tells us in Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron,so one person sharpens another.
As the CEO of E.Y.E for Beauty Pop-up Shop and the Founder of Beauty for Ashes ministries , my mission is to provide resources to encourage and empower women in various area of their life . I strive to help women learn to exchange any pains and burdens of life for the promises of God . My hope is to help women develop positive self images . I do that through personal shopping experiences , self esteem seminars /workshop, grief support sessions as well as through inspirational literature which includes my published book “A Walk through the Valley “ which deals with grief & healing.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Amidst the tears and shattered dreams, is where I found my purpose—I feel my story, is a catalyst for uplifting and encouraging others. My aspirations transcend the bounds of personal healing; they traverse the realm of collective empowerment. With a hunger to touch souls, my dreams is that my words and story will become a balm for countless hearts needing solace and healing. My hope is simple : to reach many and touch every soul, yearning for the warmth of understanding, courage, and renewal. I aspire to continually be a beacon of hope, a catalyst for transformation, and an unwavering reminder that amidst life’s trials, resilience blooms and healing is always within reach. My story isn’t just about traversing the valley; it’s about conquering it, illuminating the path for others to follow. My ultimate goal is to uplift, inspire, and empower—to help other find the strength found within and the boundless capacity of the human spirit to rise, heal, and thrive. I strive to do this through my writing and speaking

While not an easy task I find it richly rewarding . I am proud of everything I have accomplished, which includes becoming a published author of A Walk through the Valley and starting two non profits- Beauty for Ashes Ministries Inc. and Jaden Earl Foundation dedicated to my 2 children who passed in May 2018 and Nov 2021.

What I feel set me apart is my resilience despite tragedy . I am an overcomer and I share my personal motto- There is life after …

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had to plan an itinerary of activities for a friend to show them a good time , our outing would consist of brunch , retail therapy (preferably to support a small /local business ). A cultural experience such as a museum or exhibit . An interactive “DIY” workshop , if possible to get those creative juices flowing as well as created me memories . Lastly as a self proclaimed foodie we would have to go out for “fine dining” , one with appealing aesthetics and a welcoming atmosphere .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like acknowledge my husband Dameon Watson for being my biggest supporter . He has been my shoulder to lean on and my sounding board . I would also like to acknowledge my mother , pastor and mentor for the prayers, guidance and nurturing needed to navigate through this thing called life . Last but not least I want to say thank to my PR agent Stefanie Magness or took a chance with me and gave me the “boost” of confidence I needed .
