We had the good fortune of connecting with Hoston Fannings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hoston, how does your business help the community?
I didn’t name the business Hoston Helps for no reason.

One of the biggest ways we help the Augusta community is by partnering with other resource providers. For case managers and staff, we help them help their people by answering all the medical insurance questions and getting clients enrolled.

Our list of partners is growing fast, but special shoutout to the teams at Manhood & Womanhood Tour, Project Impact, and Harrisburg Family Healthcare!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Hoston Helps Insurance Group isn’t just different, it’s better.

At the beginning, I decided to name the brokerage after myself instead of a soulless entity. No matter how big we grow, I don’t want to stray from the foundation of it all, which is me helping people and solving problems. We make sure the backend tech is top tier so real people can stay on the front end helping clients.

Was it easy? Lol. Nothing worth having comes easy.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to work smarter not harder, then work harder on that smarter route.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My brother JahWill is actually here in Augusta with me now, but we barely go out cause we stay locked in. When we do step out it’s usually work-related, or on fatherhood/unc duties.

But for food, gotta hit up Jamaica Hut. The wait is sometimes long but it’s worth it. For fun, we enjoy playing hockey in North Augusta, and hooping on the south side. My son loves the boxing mentorship at May Park Boxing. Our mom loves the foundational black American history at the Lucy Craft Laney Museum. It reflects what she teaches on her channel, FBA Legacy!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout the homie QuanQuan, Lil J, RGK Bankroll, lol jk but fr tho

Shoutout to Donald Doe with Family Financial Consultants, and John Campbell with Unity Marketing & Management. They did more than just show me the ropes with Medicare. Both of these men have gone out their way to put me in a position to win.

From opportunities to strategies on business growth, I am the product of what was poured into me, and I’m grateful.
