We had the good fortune of connecting with Hattie Inese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hattie, how do you think about risk?
I am a firm believer in doing something you have a passion for scared. The saying “we miss 100% of the chances we don’t take” is real. Taking risk plays a major role in majority of the wonderful opportunities and experiences I have been blessed to have. Meeting and working with people I never thought I would ever have the pleasure of working with.

Taking risk is not easy, anytime I took a risk it was never easy. I use discernment, if I feel strongly in my spirit about it I make the move while scared/afraid. Uncertainty is apart of life, I believe I am here for a reason. If I allow fear to keep me from what sets my soul on fire I could never forgive myself. My purpose is bigger than me. Which means I in return have to get over myself and be what I am meant to be.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the Founder/Creative Director for Creative Purpose Productions, With a background in musical theatre I have experience in dance, music and acting. As someone who grew up with parents who were on and off drugs most of my life I found the arts to be a place of comfort. In many ways the arts saved me. As an adult I studied theatre while in college and fell in love with it. As the founder of Creative Purpose Productions I want to be the brand who can provide a space for the youth in impoverished communities with the opportunity to express themselves artistically and build on the awesomeness that is within them. I collaborate with artist alike to produce purpose driven content. Any proceeds and/or donations aids in facilitating free Creative arts programs for the Central Florida area. Our productions are about story telling, we do so through music, dance and poetry. What we do has never been done before, so it can be challenging sometimes to get the word out. I overcome those challenges by not giving up. I don’t have all the answers, and I definitely don’t always know what I am doing. But I have faith the vision I have is God given. So I continue to walk it out and take it one day at a time. In doing so I have met and connected with like minded creatives who believe in the vision and support using their talents for a purpose. Learn to focus on those who support you rather than those who don’t.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
