We had the good fortune of connecting with Fhateesha Counts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fhateesha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I first thought about starting my business it was to help empower woman. I love showing them ways to feel good about themselves through fashion. Dressing a woman in clothes that makes her feel good about herself gives her a confidence that is undeniable. Starting the second half of my business which was the business coaching was because I want to empower more black women or women in general to want to start their own business. I wanted to create a platform or forum where they can ask questions feel empowered and not judged. I want to bring sisterhood to a community of women that were unknown to each other but willing to help one another climb the ladder. I have such a giving heart but it always seemed fitting for me to start his coaching business based off of the knowledge that I learned through my own process.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Bellux Collection is an urban luxury boutique with a twist of party girl. We sell a luxury lifestyle to our clients. Most women want Their clothes to look upscale and high-end. But I don’t want to break the bank to accomplish these luxury looks. I provide a luxury look at an affordable cost for the every day woman. My business has become a success because I think about the little person and everyone else.I love it when I make a customer male or female feel empowered and beautiful/handsome in something they purchase from me. Clothing is such a statement piece it’s almost a stamp of who you are. Our clothes provide you with the lifestyle you want to have. It allows you to be free. Running this business has not always been easy it was always trial and error and of course we endured some losses but the losses that we endure it made us better. How we started to overcome those obstacles were by paying attention to the customers that we were trying to target and paying more attention to what they were looking for what they were asking for enjoying that we started to see a change. The lessons that I’ve learned along the way is to stay consistent consistency will take you very far!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So I’m originally from New Jersey so if I was to bring someone here to Atlanta our itinerary would consist of definitely have to go to Slutty Vegan that would be our first stop because I need to eat hunnie. The fairest wheel is a must see. Of course I will take them to Bellux to shop a little and we are definitely visiting compound. I’m such a girly girl so we would definitely have to go and do some type of Manny Petty or massage type of situation. I’m a simple girl but I like nice things. There is so much to do in Atlanta especially in the summertime if it was summertime and they were coming to visit the festivals are a definite thing to do. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that I dedicate this shoutout to would be my aunt and my mom. Growing up in New Jersey my family had a few businesses from beauty supplies to Grocery stores and etc. I always admired my aunt for working so hard to live a life that she had created for herself everyday she strived to work harder then the day before until she got to the point where it would run it self. Me seeing that hard work and determination made me want to work hard and hustle for myself like she did. My mom played a part because she always made me feel like I could be the best at anything I tried. She was a single mom with two kids and she got up everyday and made it happen we never lacked for anything and we always had nice things. I miss her dearly I wish she was here to see my progress. I know if my mom was here she would definitely be the person decorating inside the store and ordering all the stuff spending all the money. Lol but it would be worth it just to see her smile.
