We had the good fortune of connecting with Felicia Grayer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Felicia, what inspires you?
I’m inspired mostly by the people that God has put in my life overall. I would certainly say that my mother is at the top of that list, Daisy Glover. If love were a person, it would be her. She is patient. She is kind. I long to have her strength daily. One day after I’ve lived as long as she has, I will still not have the amount of wisdom housed in her.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Healed Soul Life is a Non-Profit organization focused on emotional healing. As a matter of fact, each of our members has dealt with depression, anxiety in some way, shape, or form. I’m most passionate about emotional healing for Christians who have neglected to maintain a healthy, behavioral state. So many of us use excuses to stay the way that we are and never truly live the life that we sing, preach, and pray about. My battle of colorism led me here, but it is not the end-all, be-all of who I am. I’m learning this as I move forward. The more I talk about my past, the more I want to simply leave it there. In the past… I spent 20 years of my life failing as a true believer of Jesus Christ. No more. My freedom is so important to me. So much so that anyone connected to me must be free as well. It’s a prerequisite of association. The power of expression is the greatest tool that I have in my arsenal. I intentionally use it every chance that I get. Our emotions point the way. We just have to pay attention. No more foggy, non-present, low self-esteem days for me. I am who God says that I am. Period. Nothing else needs to be said. Who’s going to dispute what God says? Absolutely, positively, nobody. I’m most proud of what God is doing through the THSL ministry. As far as challenges go, they are few and far between because of obedience. When you choose to just simply be obedient to the will of God for your life, are there really any challenges? I’ve certainly learned discipline and the definition of what it means to keep going. Anything worth building is worth dying for. Only what I do for Christ will last. Therefore, I’m going to make the best of it. Dying daily just to build a ‘God’ centered business is truly gut-wrenching, yet oh so rewarding. I love God.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My husband and I frequent a few places in Atlanta. This is going to be hard because, although I prefer South Carolina’s food over Georgian cuisine any day, there are a few spots that I treasure. A favorite for casual lunch and dining is JG’s Chicken & Seafood (the best, fried, whole wings), and Austell Seafood (the best seafood boil). Bahama Breeze, Kennesaw, is our favorite spot for date night. We just recently tried Stoney River, Atlanta, for the first time and it’s a huge competitor over Bahama Breeze. However, if we really want to get fancy it’s Kevin Rathbun’s Steakhouse, The Sundial Restaurant that literally spins on an axle around the city or Fogo de Chao. Our hangout spots are normally Studio Movie Grill or our church, of Course, Gathering of Champions Int’l in Marietta, Georgia. Normally, our traveling takes us across the nation so there’s always lots to discover in that regard. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout is dedicated to The Healed Soul Life team. The team that God has blessed me with is cohesive, attentive, and effective. In this article, I want to highlight our wonderful team members. Emily Walden of Douglas, GA. Elder Alastair C. Davis, Dr. Cynthia Adams, Minister Kenyotta Nelson, Minister Regina Brown, Minister Khary Vinson, & Elder Towonder Graves all of Columbia, SC. Echo Louissaint & Bri Cole of Massachussetts. Bishop Carl D. Parrott, also in South Carolina, is our quarterly intercession host & council as well.
