We had the good fortune of connecting with Faye “Mocha” Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Faye “Mocha”, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Inspiration is defined as, “a feeling of enthusiasm you get from someone or something, that gives you new and creative ideas.” So when asked what inspires me, the response was easy “SERVICE!!!” As I reflect upon what that means to me it easily brings about an enormous smile and an abundance of style. Where does all of this begin one might ask; it’s foundation was given life but my beautiful Grandmother Ruby Dean Aldridge. She instilled in me very early that a cheerful giver along with a person willing to assist others whenever/ wherever would be blessed beyond measure. So, as a little girl I watch her care for a wealthy Caucasian family for over 25yrs! She also cleaned and organized the only Bank in her small town and she was revered was the utmost respect and compassion. She was treated as she though she was among The Who’s who in her town. And I love it. She did it with class, style and poise. I watched her serve at church and in our neighborhood. Anything she committed herself to, it was done with panache and grandeur. I knew I would hold those qualities as I grew older and the older I became the more like her I blossomed into. On my life journey, I began working in many ministries at church, becoming members of various organizations and charities in the office and in my community, I quickly was dubbed the party coordinator and there I was spearheading and managing large corporate events and most of my friends and family life changing gatherings. Many of them became annual staples . One of my favorite quotes is from Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” And as I began to build my own brand, Events Amoore; that quote deeply registers with me! There’s nothing that gets me going more where I’m completely lost in creativity when I’m in the mode of planning and designing an event for a client. Being one with my clients ideas and servicing their needs is truly my world of Utopia and my ultimate inspiration!!!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Events Amoore was born in 2018 out of a passion for helping others see their ideas come to life. I make the most important events in my clients’ lives be as memorable and enjoyable as possible. Through Corporate and strategic partnerships formed over the years, I’ve created memorable events for Fortune 500 companies on both professional and person levels. I’ve also learned to be flexible and accommodating to each client’s unique needs and preferences. I hope you’ll let me plan your next unforgettable event. You won’t regret it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Of course, I would be the person my bestie and other sisters in our circle would look to for Fun girl planning. During these times, I would host at home and outdoor activities. Our breakfast would mainly be at home; some we would prepare and others I would arrange Home Fresh to serve us. Then we would do a little retail shopping each day for different items … Target, Walmart, Bleu Hanger, At Home, and Lenox Mall to name a few. For our evening dining we would hit Green Ginger, Fresh Treats, Ponce City Rooftop, Frontera, and then Uber eats a couple of nights. The week would be best serve reminiscing over 30 + years of fun and sisterhood!!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
