Meet Eugenia Lartey-Attigah, LPC | Author & Licensed Professional Counselor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eugenia Lartey-Attigah, LPC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eugenia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I would say risk taking was the essential force towards me starting my career. In 2009, I kept having this desire to go back to school. This feeling would not leave me alone. I was working two part time retail jobs and I was struggling financially, emotionally, and physically. However, I heard God’s audible voice say “ Quit your jobs and go to school “. My whole life all I have known is working. I had to take a risk and fully trust God’s plan and his provision concerning my destiny. In this present moment, I am grateful that I did not allow fear to rob me of my career and purpose.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an eclectic mental health therapist. I use several different therapeutic interventions such as (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy) . I used this special intervention called Inner Counselor- which is trans personal psychology with hypnotic revive which is used to process severe traumatic experiences. Especially, helping people during this difficult time we are facing as a nation.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have them check out Ponce City Market Place Atlanta Belt Line. There are a lot of cool stores and eateries there. Also Suntrust Park is a fun place to eat and have great time. The World of Coca Cola and The Sugar Factory are amazing places in the city of Atlanta to go to.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shout-out to Johnetta Barnes and Dr. Russell Floyd for mentoring me. My mother , Elizabeth Lartey, and My Twin Sister , Patricia Lartey, and My Best Friend ,Missy Smith, and the Smith Family for encouraging me. Life Bridge Church and World Changers International Church for spiritually feeding me.
