We had the good fortune of connecting with Eneily Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eneily, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since a young age my mom always told me I was a natural born leader. As a Christian Athlete, Ive always wanted to make a difference in others’ lives. I want to be able to use my platform to be a voice for women in sports so that they may earn more respect from people all over the world. I want to make a difference and inspire others to join this huge movement for women athletics. My clothing brand was made to promote Women empowerment in athletics. I will be doing everything in my power to bring awareness to this issue thats been going on for too long. All it takes is a collective effort and support from the right people. WOMEN do not get the same respect and acknowledgment as MEN. It is not fair and I hope I’m a factor that would takes us a step towards our goal. My true basketball journey started at age 7 and now at age 22 I think it is time to show the world what I am about and make my mark.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a 22 year-young CEO and entrepreneur that is striving while pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Marketing. I am most proud of being able to accomplish so much at my age and the impact I am already making throughout the basketball community. I stayed true to my roots and decided to promote what I am already doing, basketball. I promised myself at the age of 12 that I did not want to wake up hating my job every morning. I do not think my journey in the business world was easy, but since I am doing what I love, it doesn’t really feel ‘hard’. I want people to know you can come from any type of background and still be successful in anything you do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually have a bestfriend that stays out of state who visits pretty often. My favorite part about Houston is that there is so many things to do. My favorite restaurants that I take him to is Panera Bread and Ninfas, Mexican restaurant. I go to those places so much , they know my first name and my order to the T. If we are feeling a little fancy, we would definitely hit restaurants like Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steak House or Turkey Leg Hunt . We both are huge sports fanatics so if there is any games going such as Rockets, Texans, or Astros, we are there in the flesh. We also share our support and love for Female athletics so if there are any games in high school or college, we’ll watch those as well. I’d definitely take him to mid town to do activities like going to the museum district, scooter riding, and thrift shopping. I’ll also bring him to Discovery Green or Buffalo Bayou skate park to get some outside time in to soak in the sun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It takes a village to raise a kid and I was privileged enough to cross paths with key individuals. One person that I give huge credit to is my mother, Pilar Perez. She has taught me everything I know and honestly she is truly my best-friend. My God father , Champ Glory , has been working me out since the age of 7 and molded me to the athlete and person I am today. I played for many AAU teams and the one coach that stood by my side through the entire recruitment process was Coach Trey, the Houston Dream Elite Founder. I have many others who have also impacted my life and they know who they are.
