We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Kennedy and Ellen Cobb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth Kennedy, what do you attribute your success to?
Novo Fitness Studio’s success is dependent upon our prioritization of our clients. We always put our clients first and their needs are of the upmost importance to us. We are constantly asking ourselves, “how can we better the client experience?” Whether it is someone’s first time through our doors, or they’ve been with us since day one, we strive to make each visit to our studio one that makes them never want to leave.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The longer we are in the fitness industry, the more apparent it is that our studio is unique and cannot be replicated. Despite others’ efforts to re-create something “Novo-like,” there is simply one Novo Fitness Studio. Our community is one-of-a-kind; we are a family. If you ask any client, they will say that they first came to Novo for the workout, and they keep coming back because of the community within Novo that they have found. The other thing that sets us apart is our class offerings. Since our studio is unique to us, and not a franchise, we have the ability to completely customize our classes to reflect what we believe are the most important qualities in a workout class – energy, musicality, personalization, and encouragement. Of course, we prioritize a well-structured workout in each class taught, but these other factors take an intense hour-long class and make it fly by!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We absolutely LOVE The Juice Bar, and go there several times a week. If you want a healthy option for post-workout, that would be our number one recommendation. As far as meals, Ellen’s favorite local spot is Trevioli’s Italian Kitchen. The entire “uptown” area is full of unique spots and interesting architecture of the Historic District, and it is also conveniently located next to the River Walk, where you can explore the Chattahoochee River. Also “uptown,” is The River Center for Performing Arts, as well as The Springer Opera House, if you want to squeeze in some theatre. There are several unique areas that are very close by for a day trip, including Pine Mountain, Callaway Gardens, and Warm Springs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our family (our husbands and parents) deserve the biggest shout-out for all of their “behind-the-scenes” efforts that allow our business to run smoothly. From trouble-shooting our software, to running financial projections, to being an unending baby-sitting service for Beth Anne’s three kids, we could not ever think about owning our own business without their help.
