We had the good fortune of connecting with Diamond Christine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diamond, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Love is the guiding principle that fuels everything I do. Not romantic or familial love, of course, but the constant remembrance that behind every client, project, company, and dollar bill … there are real people directly involved and impacted. Think stakeholders. So I make it a habit to regularly ask myself ‘Who are my stakeholders? Why? How will my work impact them? What can I do increase likelihood of their success?’ At the end of the day, if I can build real relationships with my team and clients and understand their “why”, we will be better aligned and I will be better equipped to serve them.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Let’s start with the boring stuff… I graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS in Management. I’ve spent 12 years in Corporate America in project/program management leading numerous small and large enterprise software development and implementation projects. In 2016, inspired by my own pets, I founded Mint Creative Co, a full-service photography agency specializing in pets. And lastly, in 2019, I co-founded Favo Coworking, a coworking space in Florianopolis, Brazil. My career has been an exciting mix of corporate experience & entrepreneurial adventures and I wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything. Coupled with the invaluable advice and mentorship of others, they’ve taught me more, personally and professionally, than any book, mentor, or course ever could. My secret sauce to overcoming challenges and keeping a level head along the way is taking care of my intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical health. I can only give out what I put in so I’m a firm believer in understanding the value of personal health, wellness, & meditation. It’s at these times that I find I can master my emotions, strengths and weakness and tackle challenges with a clear mind. Specifically, that might look completely different person to person but, in principle, I think it’s vital that each finds their own secret sauce and stick with it. At this point in my career, half of me feels so thankful for everything I’ve accomplished so far but the other half of me knows I have so much ahead and that’s a wild emotion to master daily!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to shoutout my mother and my aunt! Since I started crawling, they always taught me never to shy away from my ideas or from fear of the unknown. After all, that’s where the most exciting self discoveries are made. Their constant flow of emotional support has definitely fueled me to continue pushing forward even when things are difficult.
