Hi Destiny, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of the Señorita Boñita Cosmetics brand is connection. We connect with real women with real bodies, real stories, and real triumphs. We want women to feel a part of a larger community of women who are striving to be, feel, and look their best (or “Boñita” as we like to say) in the face of beauty standards that tend to promote the same boxed in beauty standards. We have been able to connect with women because we send this message loud and clear: your body is sacred, beautiful, and you have every right to feel sexy in it!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Señorita Boñita Cosmetics. The goal of Señorita Boñita Cosmetics is to celebrate, love, and adorn bodies with body beads and care. What sets my business a part from other bead or body care businesses is that it comes from a place of love and pretty vibes (as I like to say a lot). The Señorita Boñita experience is more than the beautiful body beads and the amazing body care products, it is the special care, attention, and positive vibes that are experienced by our customers. From our youngest customers who love the Z. Simone Collection lip glosses to the retired grandmother who loves adorning her waist with our beads, they are showered with lots of love and pretty vibes at Señorita Boñita Cosmetics.

I began this journey 1 year ago after waist beads had changed my life. I wanted other women to feel beautiful, sexy, and and so magical in waist beads just like I had. My business took off faster than I thought it would so I had to learn how to market, promote, take pictures, etc. really fast. I also had to learn how to include my 9 year old daughter since she wanted to get involved in the business. This is where the Z. Simone Collection came from; it was for my daughter to have the experience of being a business owner. Being a business owner has not been easy but it has been fun! I work more way more than 40 hours a week on my business but it is worth it because it is so fulfilling. The hardest thing I have overcome is burnout with balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood, life, and my regular job. I learned to set a schedule for everything, to stick to my boundaries (like work stays at work so that my business can remain a priority), and to have fun with my business.

I want the world to know that a lot of love, good energy, and pretty vibes goes into Señorita Boñita Cosmetics. From the packaging to the photographs to everything else and in between, lots of hard work goes into making sure those who support us are left feeling “Boñita” with the best quality of body beads and body care products.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the most fun places to checkout in my area are located in Bricktown (downtown OKC). There is great food, a water canal, baseball stadium with the NBA arena not far, and a perfect place to walk and vibe. Some great food places to check out would be Off the Hook Seafood & More, The Catch, Brielle’s Bistro, and Volcano Sushi. It would be cool to visit the First Americans Museum and drive to Tulsa, OK (not far at all) to visit the Greenwood Cultural Center (Tulsa is also the home of the GAP Band)! Also, a cool place to hang out is Open Mic Night at the Ice Event Center in OKC or drive to Main Event for fun, food, and drinks.

I want to dedicate my shoutout to my sister. She is the person who first encouraged me to follow my dreams when I shared my vision for Señorita Boñita Cosmetics.
