Meet Da’sha Rozier: Actress & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Da’sha Rozier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Da’sha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I strongly believe in order to be successful you have to be willing to take risks. I did not get to where I am in life by playing it safe. Naturally, I am a risk taker and am always up for a challenge. The biggest risk I have taken recently, is fully committing to building my brand and becoming a full time actress and model. I moved to Atlanta with no family and no secure job. All I had was my faith and trust in God and myself that everything will work out for my greater good.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I truly love what I do as an actress and model. I love connecting with people to understand their creative minds as it evolves my own mind. My journey is not easy, I do not come from a wealthy family where I had connections to put me in specific rooms. However, the challenges I’ve faced have built me in ways no amount of money or status could have done. I have a strong relationship with God and it continues to grow. He has kept me, protected me, and guided me along my journey. I have days where I feel like the impossible is impossible to reach. But I look back on how far I’ve come and know my purpose in life has not yet been fulfilled because I’m here another day. The biggest lesson I have learned is to be yourself. Being yourself will put you in the right space around the right people at the right time. Life is built on seasons and in each season I’ve taken the time to focus on what I need or what I am doing to become a better me. If I can focus on improving myself I know I can be of better assistance to any situation I am in. I aspire to motivate people to be themselves in every aspect. As an actress and model, I want anyone I come into contact with to leave me or my work loving themselves more and being fearless on their journey in life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have an adventurous spirit and love challenging myself and others around me. But first I am a foodie and would take my friend to one of my favorite Caribbean restaurants, Negril Village. They have oxtail empanadas that will sweep you off your feet! Which I discovered through Hidden Flavors which is a food blog discovering unique restaurants in the city. Atlanta has a beautiful scenery and spending time at a hiking trail in northern Georgia, will be an eye opening experience for anyone to experience. Atlanta is home for hip hop and a lot of African American history and educating my friend on how African Americans have benefited and gained a lot in Atlanta would be an experience I would love to highlight; such as the APEX Museum. Atlanta is known for its many festivals held at Piedmont park, viewing their events schedule to see what celebration is happening that would be fun to dive into. Leading into nightlife, Cirque Daiquiri Bar and Grill is a great way to conclude the night. They have a variety of drinks for all, with live music and the food is unbelievably good. Atlanta is a big playground and there’s something for everyone. There is no time for a relaxing vacation when you have time to explore a new city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a special recognition to my grandmother Elouise for her believing in my craft from the beginning. I was always passionate about my career choice of becoming an actress and model and many people did not see what I saw. However, my grandmother saw my passion and encouraged me to pursue it. One of my favorite designers is Vikiyah Duncan, owner of Intrepide Style House (IG: @intrepidestylehouse) and Black Women Galore (IG: @blackwomengalore). She is inspiring and gifted with her creativity when it comes to fashion. Exclusive Modelz (IG: @exclusive_modelz) provides platforms and resources for independent business owners to thrive in their industries. Working with them has been amazing and I am excited to see what the future holds for us both. Final shoutout to a good friend and amazing photographer Kenyan Alexander (IG: @x.tranquil). He is an amazing creative and fun to work with on any set.
