We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Marci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
They say when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.
This is the reason why I wanted to start my own business. Dogs are my passion, and with the help of a few loyal friends, I realized my passion could also become my career.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am passionate about dogs, and my clients. I believe this is what sets me apart from others in my profession. I am personally invested in each and every dog and client I work with. I believe this is what sets me apart from others in my line of work. People can feel this, and it makes us work great as a team.
For me, it’s not about the money. It’s priceless seeing the joy on my client’s faces when their dog aces a command. Or the proud looks the dogs make when they understand and are showing off.
There is no better feeling, than to see a dog and owner, once having trouble, now moving with harmony. My mission is to help every person learn a fun, yet effective way to communicate with their dog.
As with anything, there are challenges when you are trying to grow, or try something new. Being a single Mom, it has been challenging trying to maintain a full-time job, grow my business and still be the best Mom I can be. That being said, despite the challenges, the reward is well worth any sacrifices. The satisfaction knowing you are doing what you love and helping people at the same time, is something you cannot buy.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is such a fun city, with so many adventures to be taken.
I love the belt line. I’d grab my dogs and start at Ladybird for some lunch, then walk down the belt line, hitting the breweries along the way for a nice seat at the patio, and a cold drink. Eventually ending up at Ponce City Market, where there is something fun to enjoy for all!
Definitely go to Muchacho for brunch, then spend the day in Grant Park, seeing the sights, head to the zoo.
Can’t forget Little 5 Points… visit Junkmans Daughter, and grab a burger from the vortex.
I’d also check out the Westside Park, great views of the city, and not as packed as the other parks. Definitely grab breakfast at Thumbs Up Cafe and try Local for the best chicken wings EVER! Great beer and environment at Monday Night Brewing,
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am lucky to say I have been blessed with some of the best friends, whom I now consider family. I would like to dedicate my shout out to these very special friends, Malik and Komal Hussain.
Thank you for believing in me, mentoring me, and pushing me to take that leap. Thank you for the way you helped me believe in myself, without you, I would never made the leap to live an entrepreneur style life or open a business. I will forever be grateful for you guys showing me a way to achieve a life dreams are made of!!
