We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Tusie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always been an artsy kid i made everything from puppets out of toilet tissue rolls to summer camp leather friendship bracelets with pony beads. I am obsessed with the idea of unlimited creating each and everyday, it brings me pure joy at its finest. i have since discovered my passion for writing, when i finish a writing piece, its like that last click-clack on a roller coaster at the top of the hill before the weightless fall.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love writing! What sets me apart from others is my ability to really dive into emotions and to make a reader connect with my words. I’m most proud of myself for not giving up and taking the time to learn the process of self publishing. The road to writing my first book was not easy, but I was hungry for it. With the help of family and my best friend by my side cheering me on and pushing me to not only finish, but fully self publish it. I learned schedules are your friends and so is organizing your writing. When I tell you I went through the motions putting this book together! haha, but it was worth it and there’s way more to come because I love to see people grow and heal.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First of all were going to every art museum we can in Atlanta! a few lounges, listening parties, poetry slams, six flags, in between we would hang out at my house, visit a few parks, walk a few hiking trails and hit a few wing spots, and slutty vegan
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My business besties, Vernice Ward and OG.
